Assuming there is an actual vaccine available a polio outbreak could be some outstanding Darwinism in action, could see the GOP base reduced significantly when they refuse to take it.

Can we make it so that those who elect not to take the vaccine for choice reasons also don't qualify for an iron lung on the other end of illness?
If you get a vaccine preventable illness and you have declined the vaccine and require healthcare for it, you pay for treatment. You can buy insurance to cover it, but it's expensive, and called Stupidity Insurance. If you are using Stupidity Insurance for care, you need to wear a propeller hat while in care.

Aside from Trump making an appearance earlier this week, things still seem rather quiet and unusual. He’s typically inserting himself in the news constantly and it hasn’t been that way in a few weeks.
I watched some clips of that RFK hearing today, what a disaster. He can't stop lying. Imagine being one of those Republican doctors who confirmed his vote, you have to live with that the rest of your life, if they even care. And he always sounds rough when he talks but today was another level, he was breathing so hard all the time, it was bizarre.

Yea, other than Trump’s 5 minute announcement about Space Command, it’s been radio silence and a relatively empty schedule. And when he does pop his head out briefly, he looks like he’s on death’s door. There’s no way that dude is healthy in any way, shape or form.
^ You ever get that sharp pain right between your eyes -- just above the bridge of your nose -- when you hear something fantastically, unbelievably f'cking stupid? I got that watching this video of Senator Kennedy.

I couldn't stop watching. I may not end up looking like the alien, but he guaranteed I would at least grow another ear if I ate shrimp from another country. Because it was radioactive. Obviously.

I think many of the Boomer base received polio vaccines as children. Unfortunately they would survive.

Isn’t this basically the premise of non-universal health care though? That people shouldn’t have to pay into medical care for other people that refuse to prevent some health issues?
Like in your example, why stop with vaccine refusal? How about things like smoking or obesity? Those are things that cause many many deaths with clearly defined science showing the links to health issues.
Speaking of dumb people, EU's top diplomat, Kaja Kallas, was commenting about Russia and China at the SCO talking about WW2 saying, "Russia and China fought in World War II, we won World War II, we defeated the Nazis", and how she thought, "this is something new!", saying further that people "don't read history much", implying that Russia and China were not against Germany in WWII. LOL. We are effed!
