Luckily I have no interest in Fargo so I have never seen it, thus no issues with music.
If I have to criticize I bick Wwendy vs Xenomorph, it was off screen and that's cheep. I do suspect we will get to see another Wendy vs Xeno fight though later.

You should go watch Fargo. All 4 seasons that was shot in Calgary were great.

It's interesting that the characters seem so divisive. Someone earlier hated Wendy, and it sounds like she's one of the few you liked.
FWIW - I have an 11 year old boy, and when he plays with his buddies it sounds pretty much exactly like how they were talking. So it resonated with me. That moment where the one guy put his arm around the other guy to comfort him I found to be emotional and meaningful.
If you don't have kids of that age or temperament, I certainly could understand how it's not very interesting.
Aliens has already had a kid protagonist in Newt who was both traumatized but also well equipped and vital to help resist the aliens. This is sort of a "what if" exercise - what if her brain got plugged into a Bishop like android?
Damn. Maybe that's what Aliens 3 should have been...
The Kid Irritating is the corporate foil just like Carter Burke. Instead of a yuppie ladder climber of the 80's, he's the Silicon Valley geek who is 100% certain he's smarter than everyone else... but probably isn't.
I like that I keep thinking about the shows for a few days after the episodes air. Lots going on for fans of Alien and Aliens (who like to pretend there are no other movies).
I like this thought. I have an 11 year old boy too, and you hit the nail on the head.

I'm curious as to how Wendy survived the acid blood, that she didn't know existed. It would have been better, if the xeno had just melted half her body, and now she had to go through major repairs.

I feel like earlier versions of the xeno's and face huggers had pressurized blood causing any wound to spray. So I definitely agree with you, Wendy should have lost an arm and half her face.
That said she's evidently a bad ass given what she did.

I'm not clear how she was able to decapitate the Alien with a blade. The acid blood would have disintegrated the blade once it punctured the skin making it impossible to sever through. I do wish more shows would put a just little more thought into scenes like this.

The acid takes time and we don't know what the sword is made from. Could be some kind of ceramic composite that's acid resistant. However they should have shown or told us about it if it is made of something special.

In Aliens, the mariners get acid on their body armour and are able to take off the body armour before the acid totally melts through their bodies.
Unless the sword cauterized the Xenomorph somehow, it would likely make a huge mess with the acid everywhere afterwards.

I commented earlier that the Aliens of yore seemed to have more pressurized blood, even the face huggers. These ones seem far safer to cut.
But this is all just a minor inconsistency across a 48 year old franchise.
A lot of it is probably due to budget too. They didn't show any of the fight, which was almost certainly a budget issue, unless they are trying to not reveal something about the hybrids. It's also possible Wendy is in a coma because she has some kind of connection to the Xenomorphs and killing one damaged her too.

Now there's the mystery I am really interested in. What's going on with that, why only Wendy, will it spread? I love the background tension of having species xx121 around, we all know atleast 1 more xeno s going to get loose probably more than one.
The good in the show makes it super easy to look right past the inconsistencies such as the nonjuicy xenomorph.
I'm not 100% sure how I feel about this hybrid/Xeno connection. I guess I just don't get why a human in a synth body would have an ability to communicate with or some kind of connection with Xenos.
The whole talking to them, kind of takes away from their mystery. I prefer them having a more exotic intelligence. Giving them a discernible language makes them less interesting. I know it was already established in Aliens that the Queen is intelligent enough to communicate in some way, but it seems like they're pushing it here.
I’m liking the show. But it’s pretty clearly leaning into the teens & 20s demographic. Which is understandable, considering that’s the market for action-horror today. Romulus did the same thing, with a cast of attractive, hard-bodied 20-somethings.
One of the elements that gave the original Alien a lot of its authenticity was that the crew were presented as pretty normal 30-50 year old working adults. Skerrit was 45, Hurt 39, Dean Stanton 52, and Kotto 41. And all were pretty average looking. But I suppose that’s a hard sell for an action-horror franchise in 2025.

Another solid episode. All this hybrid stuff is starting to veer a little bit into Jurassic Park territory. But overall I’m really enjoying this series, and I’m intrigued by the mystery surrounding Wendy and her ability to communicate with the Xenomorphs. This is good stuff and adds a fresh element to the franchise IMO.

I'm an adult who enjoys horror and sci-fi and am pretty jaded. But that sh-t is giving me nightmares.
And now we know it's SMART. G-damnit. It's going to get ahold of a human at some point and start talking and jesus christ....

You're not wrong. But I really like that Timothy Olyphant as Kirsh basically shares your opinion.
"These kids are dumb"
"This idiot genius is a moron and I hate that I have to do what he says"
I can't wait for Kirsh to overcome his programming and lay waste to everyone.
