Disney plus and FX
Wow two episodes dropped and the production values are amazing.
It has suspense it has an interesting sub plot, good acting with-mostly unknown
actors to me and Timothy Olyphant .
Im seriously looking how this develops as I am fully engaged at this point.

How many times do we get to see a false scare where someone is tapped from behind by a colleague? I counted 2-3 x in first episode.

Gave the first episode a shot. It was an absolute slog. Ill try the second when I have time, but man that was just forgettable actors with forgettable lines and plot. So boring.

Really enjoyed those first 2 episodes. I thought they did a great job maintaining the overall aesthetic and lore of the original films, while also bringing a fresh element to the franchise. I’m looking forward to seeing where this goes.
Olyphant is great as usual, and I really like the lead actress as well.

If it didn't grab you, the show probably isn't for you. I wouldn't spend more time on it.
As a kid I was obsessed with the movie Aliens, and I am 100% on board for this thing. Loved both episodes and consider "that" part of the 2nd one nightmare fuel at a level I might never get over.

Watched episode 3 and it's definitely building to something, it gave me Aliens pressure cooker vibes. The plot is building multiple points of tension, with multiple sub mysteries that I really want anwsers too.

Good God....I'm 10 minutes into E3.
What is the counter at for characters just staring into the darkness yelling 'Wendy!!! Marcy!!!"
This is brutal.

It didnt get better. That episode was a chore to sit through, it required actual effort and they can jettison Wendy or Marcy or whatever she calls herself out an airlock.

Man, some of you guys are hard to please. Not sure exactly what you're looking for from an Alien project. But as a long time fan of the franchise, particularly the first two films, I think this series checks all the boxes and then some. All three episodes so far have been fantastic IMO. Next Tuesday can't come soon enough.

I didn't expect this series to be so polarizing. I love it, but obviously some people absolutely hate it.
It seems to be delivering exactly what it said it would. Spaceship brings back a bunch of aliens and those aliens are causing havoc on earth. Meanwhile a bunch of androids, who don't quite get what it is to be human, are adding to that chaos.

Yesterday's episode was also pretty awesome. Like how the main battle is going to be on a tropical island. They need to drop in some Predator ship and have at it.

It makes sense, given the timeline. This is supposed to be set before the original Alien, so the Xenomorph carnage needs to take place somewhere that the general public/government wouldn't become aware.
I'd like to see a follow up series, where Xenos invade a city or town. We did get that in one of the AvP movies, but it was kind of trash though. So maybe that's just too ambitious of an idea and the Alien concept works better in closer quarters?

I really enjoy the Aliens world and storylines, particularly Prometheus and Covenant.
I've found this series really enjoyable so far. I feel they've avoided the campiness, and i also like that there are not as many recognizable actors/actresses, and i'm more focused on the story.
I haven't been as excited for the following week since Shogun. As painful as it is to wait, this form of episode release really builds suspense and intrigue for me. Harkens back to my younger days having to be in front of the TV for exactly the right moment, or having to record on the VHS and later PVR.

When 90% of the characters are kids/teens and then you add that IDIOTIC Trillionaire fool into the mix, I have a hard time getting into this show.
The Boy Kavalier actor is horrible and he delivers lines like he's in a middle school play. I don't need an aged Dr Evil villain behind the curtain all the time but this construct is ice water down the back for me. Him flouncing around in his pajamas is a tough watch as is listening to the on- the- nose juvenile gibberish between the 2 kids in episode 3. We get it- they are kids in adult(ish) bodies but it was so over cooked with the 'dude' banter that I was half expecting to hear 'sus' and 'rizz' to really hammer the point home. 'But that's how kids talk' will be the rationale but trying to entertain adults means not having to go to cringeworthy lengths.
The 5 min guitar solo in Ep 3 as they went to the island was difficult to endure and the music overall has been terrible.
Wendy is great, as is Morrow and Kirsh but the rest can all GTFO.
C- for me.

It's interesting that the characters seem so divisive. Someone earlier hated Wendy, and it sounds like she's one of the few you liked.
FWIW - I have an 11 year old boy, and when he plays with his buddies it sounds pretty much exactly like how they were talking. So it resonated with me. That moment where the one guy put his arm around the other guy to comfort him I found to be emotional and meaningful.
If you don't have kids of that age or temperament, I certainly could understand how it's not very interesting.
Aliens has already had a kid protagonist in Newt who was both traumatized but also well equipped and vital to help resist the aliens. This is sort of a "what if" exercise - what if her brain got plugged into a Bishop like android?
Damn. Maybe that's what Aliens 3 should have been...
The Kid Irritating is the corporate foil just like Carter Burke. Instead of a yuppie ladder climber of the 80's, he's the Silicon Valley geek who is 100% certain he's smarter than everyone else... but probably isn't.
I like that I keep thinking about the shows for a few days after the episodes air. Lots going on for fans of Alien and Aliens (who like to pretend there are no other movies).

Well then you should be super happy when those annoying kids gets ripped apart by the xenomorph! lol
The problem i find with the music is that it is way too similar to the Fargo music. I'm waiting for a character to start breaking out in a Fargo accent ... you betcha!
