Well, its ended up at 75/100 on Metacritic which is pretty average for non-FromSoftware souls games (benchmark: Lies of P is an 80, Khazan is a 78).
It is getting torn to shreds on steam, though. Only 22% positive reviews. It seems a lot of players are having performance issues on PC and apparently some pricing issues in some regions where the game dropped in price on release leaving anyone who pre-ordered kind of baffled.
Pricing/performance aren't really concerns for me so I'm still going to give it a shot, but overall pretty disappointing.
I have such a hard time following the gripes on Steam reviews to be honest. There should be a whole separate class of reviews for the easy going Dad gamer who doesn't care about the difference between 60 and 100fps or the odd game slow down. Steam reviews seem harsh to me a lot of the time.

Steam probably has the analytics to know who is a casual gamer, should be able to click a box and see "reviews from filthy casuals and noobs", that would be more appropriate for myself.

I love No Return. Was surprised how much fun it was to play through a run or two. I guess it serves as the replacement for the abandoned multiplayer, but I think I actually like this more.
Also cool that they recently updated it again with new characters and maps.
Microsoft Backtracks on Plans to Sell $80 Xbox Games: Here's How Much You'll Pay
The Outer Worlds 2 was originally supposed to be the first Xbox title with a $79.99 price tag. But the company is reducing it to $69.99, citing market conditions.
Not sure it has anything to do with pre orders seeing the game doesn't come out until 10/29 and people don't preorder like they used to given there's really no benefit.
Soulstone Survivors with a full release now and has a ton of classes. Could have more modes and maybe a little overstimulating lol. Probably push your video card and monitor if you use max settings.

I read this way too quickly and immediately thought "wow, and I thought the Baldur's Gate 3 'custom genitals' thing was excessive; has character customization finally gone too far?"

I've been playing a similar game from a brazilian developer called Hell Clock:
As a geriatric gamer, I've really morphed into strategy/city builder games aficionado.
Started playing Dawn of Man (from 2019) and so far it's neat and fun. Tech tree and mechanics aren't overly complicated and that's what I'm after. Some higher end graphics would be nice, but it's 2019.
Manor Lords is a newer game of the same genre, but it's still early access so it does feel incomplete.
