I’ll ask him.

But the beer thing kinda surprised me. I had half a beer the other day and just felt awful all night long.
The current science suggests there is no safe amount of alcohol to consume. It is very carcinogenic.

At my age I can’t tolerate more than two drinks and not be hungover.

I’m seeing first hand the grip alcohol has on society, and it’s kind of sad.

Who wants to live that long anyway? You met any 90 year olds? No thanks.

I’d be totally fine if I never had another drop of alcohol ever again.

I’ve worked with many 90 year olds. Some are still very vital and sharp. Eliminating alcohol surely improves longevity and quality of life.

I’m pleased to see my sons’ generation does not drink nearly as much as we did.

I’ve never met anyone tall over 75. You all die young because of inferior designs. Danny devito gonna live til he’s 600 drinking like a fish.

I finally tried Sunny Cider...and I'm sad to say it sucks.

OTOH this #### is delightful:

It's probably on the sweet side, but something about drinking a can with this logo tells my brain I'm getting a super healthy serving of fruit, and based on the terrible nutritional info I learned in school, I'm just not questioning it.

It's totally oversaturated. The shelves are full of local and its 95% gross. Can we F off with the hops? Pineapple pumpkin espresso IPA. Call it Kaopectate and be done with it.

We used to have a very wide range of Belgian (the best) on the shelves, now its "local" crap at the the same price point.

My buddy is a partner at Origin and he confirms its a brutally tough market. They have the backdrop of being the malters for a bunch of other places as their core business but tough breaking in.

Ol Beautiful seems to be the front runner currently, but I don't even like it. I get free six packs from there and I can't choke it down.

The hops don't sit well in the guts.
Make sure there is a moustache tattoo on that finger!

Ol' Beautiful's Okami Kasu is my reliable fave right now, and doesn't disrupt my gut. Does it bother yours? I miss the old taproom that burned down, that's for sure. Cold Garden is still ok to hang out at and massages my ADHD nicely, but it was better when both were up and running. Let me know if the bud's kid ever brings any around that you need help taking down!

So true, cider is fantastic. I've also fallen in love with Piquettes (literal translation is $#!+ wine LOL).

Creek & Gully in Naramata is delicious. Last summer they made a special batch of half cider - half piquette using their apples and some portugese grapes for the owners getting married. Not available in stores because BC Liquor couldn't figure out how to make a SKU category for it. Needless to say I found a way to take home a case and it has been good to me!

Creek & Gully from Naramata are all quite dry and I can taste the real plants in it. Like biting a fresh apple straight from the tree, while walking in the orchard. You can taste the fruit, woodiness, grass/leaves and it is not too sweet. Freakin love it.

You can read about it all right here.

Basically looks like they had too much debt, brought in a turnaround guy, it didn't work, but the turnaround guy was able to get a group together to make a dark horse bid in receivership.

Crazy to think how important it was before we had water treatment plants and indoor plumbing. People in cities were low key drunk all the time because they couldn't rely on safe drinking water, but ales and meads and wines wouldn't kill you!

So much of it now is trash, full of additives and garbage to make it "consistent". I'd be pretty sad if I couldn't have wine ever again, but the rest I could probably let go and live with it.

I think this is not even for effect. It is just how he talks. "How was your steak sir?" "Like I fingered my own anus." "uhhh, ok, so good?"

Almost a tourettes type thing but in writing. Typrettes?

Are you insinuating that 25 cent draft days at Cowboys has ruined me for life??

Those were a nearly a lifetime ago.

If anything those cheap beers provided valuable immunity not available elsewhere.
