I dont want to be terribly negative before its even out of the gates buuut....its lookin' a little too Disco for my liking...and STD sucked.
Yea, that doesn't look great. I love Holly Hunter and Paul Giamatti though, so I'll probably give it a chance and watch the first couple of episodes at least.

I dont always understand the love for Holly Hunter though, she talks like she's got marbles in her mouth. If she could enunciate like a human being she'd be a great actor.
I'm a big fan of Giamatti as well, and I'm going to give it a shot but...early impressions are not good.
Why did they launch it hundreds of years in the future and tie it to Disco? Why?
Why not a couple years Post-Picard? You know...the era of Star Trek that most people really like??

If you thought this season would have a happy ending, you haven't been paying attention.

Completely agree. Picard S3 finished off at what would have been a cool jumping off point for a new series. No idea why they would want to tie this into Discovery, which will easily go down as the worst show in the history of the franchise.
A series based around Captain Seven of Nine and the newly christened Enterprise-G would have been fun.

Not to mention...I have no goddamned idea what happened in STD. None. Do I need to know for this show to make sense? Cuz thats not gonna go well.
Why does the STD-Verse even need a Starfleet Academy? The answer to every problem is "feelings and Michael Burnham."

What I enjoyed most was Una politely reprimanding Ortagas. It signals that they won't likely drag out this PTSD plot.
Space Zombies was fun! I dont care about hair, but Una reprimanding Ortegas, IMO, was perfect.
Yes, she did something wrong, intentionally, but this is Starfleet. It worked out, this time, but never, ever do it again. Well handled by two exceptional officers.
Thats Star Trek.

That hair was bizarre, I thought it was a dig at Shatner's toupe.
Una cut Ortega a major break. What Ortega did would get an officer tossed out of Star Fleet no matter who good of a pilot she was.

sigh...
Edit: I guess this is in the future so you can make the case that Odo joining the great link gave the rest of the Founders an appreciation for the idea of more sexy angry women in the universe and women Jem'Hadar was an easy solution to that. It'll have to be pretty good for me to like this idea because on the surface I hate it.

Yeah, yeah but you forgot that Michael 'Space Jesus' Burnham probably solved that somehow 500 years in the future or some equally ridiculous nonsense so that now everyone can get it on!
Or...perhaps an irate and drunken Klingon really went to town on one of those vats?
I dont remember, are there even supposed to be female Jem'Hadar at all anyways? I'm sure Burnham fixed that too.

There are no women.

Lucky you. So let me get this straight: no sleep - no food - no women. No wonder you're so angry. After thirty or forty years of that I'd be angry too.
