I would agree, but obviously everybody is entitled to their own tastes.

I fully acknowledge a lot of the extreme metal I like is anti-music to most people.

Any chance you could ask for your son's favourite bands or albums troutman? I'd be super curious to know.

Is there a reason that all of those bands have their cymbal volume way too high? Are these professional recordings?

Yes and no. The machine gun sound is pretty much the standard, but I also find it means they all tend to sound about the same with garage quality recordings:

I think those bands Troutman posted would be best classified as mincecore. "a niche subgenre of grindcore with an emphasis on musical simplicity, a DIY ethic and a political message of anarchism and anti-oppression. The term mince-core was coined by Belgian band Agathocles in the late 1980s and has since been used by numerous bands around the world."

Inside grindcore there's a few bands that separate themselves a bit more musically, or throw in the odd discernible riff or time signature change, which is the style I gravitate towards moreso:

I had someone at work share a metalcore band covering country song with me this week. It was probably the worst thing I've ever heard.

I had to bleach my ears with something brutal and Nithing is just the trick.

Just putridity incarnate from the drummer of Vitriol.

Spoiler!
I can understand the desire to DIY especially if there’s anti establishment messaging behind it. I have a hard time listening to it just because of the mixing levels and that’s a bummer, it sounds like the bands troutman listed recorded their songs from the inside of Lars Ulrichs snare drum from St Anger. It’s a very tin-like sound to me.

The bands you shared are much more to my taste. Still wouldn’t be my everyday jam but I could enjoy them.
