On the broader question, if the GMs want I would be happy to list all the offers so everyone is operating with the same info.

I think just a disclaimer in the email on "okay to release" and "not okay to release" would take care of the not wanting it out there issue.

I don't want to have to manage that.
It's all or nothing in my view.
GMs can always choose to post their offers if they want to.
But I don't want to have to go through and figure out which ones I can list and which ones I can't.

As an FYI I approached sportsjunky about Hedman just before the deadline and he told me he was signing him. I wanted to discuss a ‘sign and trade’ deal if he could find a way to make it work under his cap because I knew someone else would offer a max contract. That 1st could have been his…
So either way I was prepared to give an asset to acquire him and I have zero regrets picking up one of the best D in the game and no signs of slowing down.
I am happy you were equally motivated to get that deal done!

I don't really see the point. We all know who won. If someone else wants him that badly they can always just ask the winner if they're willing to trade them.

Wild trade Willie Eklund, Stian Solberg and Nate Danielson for Kaprizov and some $$$.
A steep price, but I wanted to bring in a top line winger and felt if I didn't, that would be the weak spot on my team. Kaprizov is signed for 3 years, and likely is the type of UFA you could grid when he comes up for his next contract, with very little risk.
I actually drafted Kaprizov way back then but I think released him for nothing, as at the time he was just a late draft pick. I think Jon signed him as a free agent and the rest is history.
Thx to simmer for the deal.

We figured one of Rantanen or Kaprizov would get moved this off-season. It's hard to trade top guys because they perform, hold their value, and only a few teams in the league have the assets to pay for them.
The Ducks needed more flexibility cap wise and also to balance out the roster from being overly top-heavy.
We also wanted to wait until we got the assets we wanted. Had a few close deals, but this one with Grant is the one that worked best for us.
Eklund had a solid 2nd season. Would love him to continue to play with Celebrini...we shall see.
Danielson I think is a sneaky good prospect like Kasper. Taken 9th overall in a deep 2023 draft. He hasn't totally lit it up offense wise, but he has progressed steadily. Worst case, he ends up as a Cirelli kind of player I suspect, which still holds lots of value in the league.
Solberg was drafted by the Ducks and he performed great at the World Championships this year, the SHL and AHL. His progression has been tremendous and he brings something different to the Ducks back end that I think gets him in the lineup.
Thanks Grant for the back and forth over a few months

Jack Roslovic
Made this move to add some depth given we struck out in UFA to this point and I am not really interested in adding some 3 year 1 way deals. Hopefully Roslovic signs on somewhere in the NHL but if not he brings a 70ov serviceable middle 6 rating for the season.
