Similar ages, ratings and contracts.
Miller is the type of dman I was looking for. We have a lot of offensive minded blueliners but needed someone to shore up on the other side.

I just got impatient. Not the ideal return but we get younger.

We needed to shed a bit of salary, not a lot. Cozens is a guy we really like and were excited he got traded to the NHL Sens. I think it gives him a new lease on life.
That being said, something had to give this off-season.
We get a magic bean in Pick 8 and a couple 3rd round prospects.
Ottawa gets at the very least a 2nd round young centre with upside and a 1st round pick still.

Good move for the Sens in a weaker draft year to get a Top 6 guy.
Selling teams have to clear cap so Avs able to at least recoup some picks.

I think you have done well this off season adding. Batherson is easily worth a late 1st.
The Avs are eyeing the 2026 draft now, but it is nice to have 3 picks in the top 52 as the ECHL roster is running out of players.
