I' m always the type of person that the gasoline is half full and really appreciate the gifs. But these gifs have me a tad concerned, I read them as something is obliviously in the works but I feel like pouring gasoline on ones self is implying self destruction or maybe not the trade we were hoping for? Now my saving grace is that it's not the monkey pouring gas on himself so there is that! Hopefully the gasoline being poured on is Jim Nill and the flames are the ones about to douse the Stars?
Keep them coming insiders!

What are the main summer pieces that are still available?
Nothing has happened with Rossi.
Nothing has happened with Andersson
The Pens have not sent out any vets yet.
No big “hockey deal” this summer with a lot of disappointing teams not being able to make a change.
I wonder if it will be a hectic lead up to camp with a flurry of trades.
Super boring offseason so far in general. Somewhat surprised the Flames have done nothing other than swapping Vladar with a goalie from outside the NHL

Jiri was on fire last night/early this morning!
As for Sec's latest George GIF, I'm reading it as the fires (rumours and conversations involving the Flames) are in fact still happening and perhaps even intensifying and/or won't die.

The RFA arbitrations seem to be a sticking point, Rossi, Kakko, Vilardi et al are interesting pieces.
I think it was Alan Walsh, the Paul Heyman of player agents who said he expects the trade flurry to happen just before or after ARB season.

The last two clues were flames being put out. I don't know what to do with that decipher, but that's what I see.

To me it starts when you get your C, but if you want at the years before well that should be caution as well as to not start building a team before you even get your top players as it sunk them even more and took longer to get rid of them.
You want to add to this group? Age appropriate to me is 18-23 like Conroy said, and soon it change to 24-26.

Also if you go back and look at the Panthers from those days, I don't think they were tearing it down to the studs rebuilding on purpose...they got that bad by being a badly run team making bad moves that started with the Luongo trade and then trading guys every year after that due to them either not wanting to spend, or players not wanting to stay with the team. I think the same would hold true for Tampa Bay and how they ended up getting Stamkos and Hedman in back to back years. So I don't know if that's something you want to duplicate.
So this is a big reason why I don't think trying to force things and move every veteran over 30 at once to intentionally make the team worse may not be the best idea. You can collect some good players, but it can be a way to also end up as the team that traded good pieces for lesser returns to the teams who do win. Someone said patience is needed, and I think that's very accurate. Turn over the veterans as time dictates. So we're at a point where Anderson and Backlund to an extent need to be moved out by the deadline (admittedly Backlund is a tougher one). Others like Coleman are now on the clock, and I do think it's fair to start looking at a guy like Kadri as someone you might shift out if this coming season does not go very well.

Kypros (I know) latest trade board has Kadri on it.
Quote:
Another Flames trade candidate, Nazem Kadri's situation is far less pressing than Andersson's. He has four years remaining on his contract, makes $7 million against the salary cap, and has a full no-movement clause through 2025-26. After next season, Kadri will have a modified no-trade clause for the final three years of his deal.
So why is he on this list? First, there are a lot of teams in need of a top-six centre around the NHL, so it should be a seller's market for anyone willing to give one up. He'll turn 35 in October, has won a Stanley Cup, and is still playing at a high level. Kadri scored 67 points this past season and a career-high 35 goals.
The Flames are building up their young team and while Kadri could still possibly be a contributing piece when some of the youth blossoms, a trade now could also bring Calgary a package that would help them more in the long-term. And that return would improve if the Flames also retain salary. Currently they are only retaining salary on Jacob Markstrom for one more season.
Two teams that Kadri continues to be linked to and appear to be willing to lift his no-move clause for are the Montreal Canadiens and Toronto Maple Leafs. Toronto’s Brad Treliving has tried numerous times to trade with his old club in the past only to be shut down by the Flames on Tanev, Zadorov and Andersson, so it may be a stretch for the Leafs to land Kadri.

The Habs have some very interesting pieces.
I would be using the Brock Nelson deal as a template and asking for a protected 1st + Hage.

This is the first I have ever heard of him waiving for Montreal. I am not saying Kypreos is wrong or it's not true, just first I have heard of it. I mean I hope it is true because they have some great assets.

Mr Kruger called George "Koko the monkey"... so that's still Craig Conroy, right?

Which only shows that the ‘tank’ crowd are foolish to think such a high pick is guaranteed if you tear the team down to the studs.

Yeah, if Montreal is a possible destination for Kadri (still don't believe that, but whatever)... that is infinitely a better team for us to trade with. They have several assets we would be interested in; much more so than Toronto, anyways.
