Perhaps Conroy and his team don't agree, but I don't understand the culture of mediocrity that we are building.

There is plenty of evidence that they have changed strategy. You seem to be ignoring it

There's 32 NHL teams. 4 examples (2 of which have had major ownership issues with minimal salary spent for significant periods of time) of tear down rebuilds not leading to any level of success is actually pretty decent.

Who is attacking them?
Challenging the views with facts isn’t an attack
And there is no “team maintain”

Sorry, its team bottom out vs team try to sneak in and surprise - because this can be the year.

Seems everyone on both sides mocks and is simultaneously tired of the back and forth between rebuild strategies. I feel alone in actually loving all the back and forth on the topic, I feel I've learned a lot and have been persuaded in both directions at times and formed new opinions on the topic.

No that’s also not it
Maybe try to consume what people are actually saying instead of mis representing it

Pretty disingenuous to act like a victim with the whole "please don't attack team tank" and then immediately turn around and make a passive-aggreisve, condescending statement about people that don't share that view. Nobody is saying try to sneak in and surprise.
It's team support the Flames and understand that nothing fans say on a forum has an impact on team direction, so beating the same drum over and over and over about sell all vets and tank is tiresome and becomes annoying.

But they didn't try to sneak and surprise last year..that roster had just overachieved and it just ended up happening.
I think the real strategy is team "Build long term, manage assets, and draft well"
If you look at what Conroy has actually done he's tried to:
- Acquire additional draft picks
- Acquire undervalued U-25 Players
- Stay out of the UFA market
You can't control where you pick, especially to pick high in the right season, but as long as you're accumulating assets and trying to build with a consistent vision then you have a chance.
And you just hope things fall they way they need to and you get a high pick in the right season.
Even for the teams that have tanked it's not a quick fix, and unless you're the Penguins and Blackhawks it takes 8-9 years after you pick high to win. So really you just have to be patient and build over the long haul.

Conroy mentioned that Kadri was ill that day... don't think there's much to it

Patience is the key word.
Panthers didn’t trade for other pieces before they picked high.

What about when they acquired Roberto Luongo before they drafted 1st overall?
Or Kris Versteeg in June 2011 before drafting 3rd (2011) 2nd (2013) and 1st (2014)?
Or Brian Campbell in June 2011.

Ehh depends when you think the start was.
Florida made lots of trades right around the time they drafted Huberdeau, and Barkov.
Brian Campbell, Kris Versteeg, Kopecey, Luongo pt 2 et
