Prosvetov would've been two years old at the time.

I'm impressed that Prosvetov made that account at a mere 2.5 years old when only 1.4% of Russians had internet access. He's clearly a genius.

It's Igor Kravchuk.

Played for the Flames at the time the account was made and is a current assistant coach for Prosevtov's Russian team (CSKA Moscow).

(I don't really know, just guessing. Igor was a pretty social person so it wouldn't surprise me if he lurked around the boards)

summary

Prosvetov - few NHL teams interested. Tracked for many years. Use to be busy and overactive in the net. Now plays more under control. Worked with a Russian goalie coach who learned under Ian Clark. Evolved to be more structured in his play. Not close to his ceiling yet.

Cooley - Training in Calgary. Cooley and Prosvetov will get a lot of minutes in preseason to see who earns it. Both need waivers, so may consider keeping 3 goalies to start the season "until they can get one through". Cooley's first half was not sustainable; second half not reflective of who he is either. Somewhere in between. Never played more than 26 games. Challenge to handle work:rest, adjust to mental side of playing so much. Playing deeper and calmer, less busy, not overplaying/over aggressive.

Owen Say - Sigalet has not seen a goalie recently who plays so light on his feet. Quick and fluid.

Sergeev - Added 17-lbs of muscle without increasing body fat. Had very good Dev. Camp. Will be learning curve for Sergeev and Say adjusting to pro hockey.

Yegorov - His growth this year was night an day since last Dev Camp. Great English and great personality. Tonne of growth. The Flames are working hard to get Yegor Yegorov out of his contract and over to North America this year, either USHL or NCAA.

Zarubin - They thought about doing the same with Kirill Zarubin. There is a lot of NCAA interest, but his English is not very good yet, so player and agent decided to wait 1 year. Will play MHL and get some VHL games. Made huge strides. 6'4", 200lbs

Vladar - Flames made multiple offers, but wanted to be a starter

sorry but don't overthink this and keep up 3 goalies please...

as it stands there is a scenario where due to bodies and inexperience we may want to carry 8 d. anyhow...

I always thought they brought Daniil Chechelev over too soon (though to be fair it may have been at that player's insistence -- the organization certainly weren't ready to give him an ELC).

Having Zarubin and Yegorov closer certainly keeps the likes of Sergeev and Say watching their backs.

I'd be more worried about losing Prosvetov to waivers than Cooley, if reports of other teams' interest is accurate.

Hmm, maybe that's why Colin Campbell threatened to suspend Kravchuk if CP didn't stop e-mailing the league back in the day.

I like the general asset management the Flames have had lately re: goaltending. The acquisition/draft cost of the current goalie depth/pipeline is really low. Obviously helps that Wolf is looking like a stud/steal, but there is some good value behind him.

Wolf - 7th round pick

Prosvetov - Free UFA

Cooley - Free UFA

Owen Say - Free UFA

Sergeev - 7th round pick

Yegorov - 6th round pick

Zarubin - 3rd round pick

Flames backup G Prosvetov to miss training cap with torn groin injury sustained during cartwheel celebration. Out 4-6 months.
