And that’s game.

Due to the weather, kickoff for today’s match has been postponed until further notice. We will have another update shortly once Canada Soccer officials have assessed the field of play (within the next hour).

Please wait for an update – we will make another announcement as soon as more details are confirmed. We are not issuing refunds at this time.

Kind of a bummer. But that's life. Happy for the rain in the long run.

Tomorrow forecast looks better but it still might be a struggle to get the pitch in playable shape. Hopefully they can get it done.

Yeah...I remember as a player...I lived for this!

"Its raining like hell!"

Then lets get sloppy!

I remember when I was coaching I would never cancel practice on account of rain and one day the parents staged a revolt.

Big mistake.

My assistant coach was this bombastic and gigantic Englishman and he was just not having it.

"OY YOU!!! In England...if you dont want to play when its wet or cold you'd never get to play at ALL! Now KNOCK IT OFF and get them to practice!!"

As a player? Aw yeah...lets get in there!

The Groundskeepers are probably pissed...but they almost always are anyways. You just cant please those guys.

"Oh! No! Dont slide there!! Thats going to take me ages to fix!!"

That first half offense looked deadly. So creative, always moving into space.
Maybe the best it has looked since 2019.

Our record against Ottawa must be really bad.

Yep. I keep track of my attendance on Futbology and my stats there say that we've only won once in the 8 times I've seen them (all at home). Definitely our bogey team for sure.

Frustrating match. No attacking intent, no creativity. Pass around the back, and back again, without actually threatening anything. Even on corner kicks, except for a few late in the game, the default was to pass back. Sometimes all the way to half again. Get it in the box! Could sure use Klomp right about now.

Still lots of time, but we are lacking the creativity to beat a team like Ottawa.

Ottawa also has stupidly good luck against us. Cavalry gifted them two goals yesterday and when Ottawa won 3-0 early in the season here they gifted them at least 1, plus the dumbest red card I’ve seen in years.

Need to stop beating themselves first

Rough game on the pitch but did the Ship bus and had a great time in the stands. Ottawa are a good side this year and Cavalry just didn't bring their best. Less of a gut punch than Canada / Guatemala yesterday.

It’s kind of surprising the league hasn’t made it a tradition to have games on Canada Day. You’d think for the Canadian Premier League, this would be a no-brainer?

Record attendance in Halifax yesterday too. You'd think that they'd try and make it a tradition like Labour Day is for the CFL - have 3 or 4 cities that host the same fixture every year.

Some July thoughts here. Mostly Canada and Jesse Marsch (could have put it in the other thread) but some Cavs thoughts at the end

Aribim Pepple just transferred from Luton Town to Plymouth Argyle for £300,000. Sounds like Cavalry got a good chunk of that transfer. Nice piece of business for a player they picked up midseason and transferred a couple months later.

Wouldn't surprise me if this is the worst attended game in club history. I'll be there though.
