Frederic played 1 regular season game and 22 games with the Oilers in the playoffs. Definitely not a new addition. He contributed 4 points over those 23 combined games. Great re-signing.

Dear Diary. Lenard ate most of my leftover pizza from BP, and he farted so much it smelled as bad as Leon’s human sized bib from Skip. I don’t know why he doesn’t wash that. Anyways, I opened a window to clear the air, and it was drafty, so I thought I would explain my thoughts on drafts.
Here it is: love them for me, hate watching them for everyone else. I always go first and so I have never had to develop patience on these things. Boo-boo tried to setup an nfl draft for us, but I lost interest as soon as the first pick was in. I’ve just never needed to pay attention at a draft for the second pick. When I found out it was 10 rounds long, well I wanted to summon up some courage and put ketchup on me to fake blood so I could go home.
My nhl draft was awkward! I wanted to go to a winner. A team with a stated decade of darkness that’s closer to 30 years - that’s a team that can’t count. Which mattered to me. I hoped they would forget about me. I was pretty choked as you can see in the video. And then a rose ceremony?!? My agent said just ignore it, but don’t sit on Katzie’s couch.
I told uncle Ken before and GM Stan last year that I don’t like drafts. They take too long. And none of them ever make the team! So they both said whatever it takes to make me happy (which I also like) and they got rid of them! I’m not kidding diary, I haven’t seen a draft or draft pick in years! I feel like they just gave them away with no purpose!
When we don’t do “drafting”, it means that I don’t have to send texts and stuff to players I will never see since they go to the farm or Europe. So I don’t have to waste my time doing that. One year, Uncle Ken suggested that I send a text to a new drafted player in the voice of Lenard the dog. Lauren got a separate number and phone, I sent the message and forgot about it. A couple of weeks later, Lauren tells me that Lenard is dating the player and I have to meet him as Lenard’s dad to give my approval! The player even flattered Lenard as the best looking Oiler to have the silver stick at my on ice presentation!
The player said it was a misunderstanding and he thought that it was me he was dating, but I also wonder if worm was a fake player and was hitting on my wife. She’s far too young!
I put a stop to everything but I think Lenard was miffed because he didn’t speak to me for days.
That’s why I hate drafts.

I was almost in an accident when driving. I distinctly remember Ron Maclean and Elliotte Friedman saying that I had a right of way rule. Basically I can go wherever I want. No interference, no delays. It’s ridiculous that red lights and stop signs apply to me.
I was at wife Lauren’s money pit…I mean bar…downtown. I grabbed a diet water in a mug (“no charge for you Connor!”) and went outside. I sat on the ground, leaned on the wall, stared at the ground, and some guy walked by and put a loonie in my mug and said “good luck to you son”. I looked up at him and said “you’ve made a mistake, I just haven’t signed a new contract yet but I’m okay.” He said “William Macy! Are you in your hobo character? So convincing!” I went back inside and put the loonie into the tips jar, thinking I was being a good guy.
Lauren told me later that the staff was offended that I only tipped $1 and I’m the owner’s husband!
Not sure I’ll go outside any time soon.

Dear Diary. Sometimes it’s good to get a second opinion.
Katzie has some issues about a $5 million payment to a homeless shelter. I guess he didn’t make it.
Katzie asked me if I could help ease the payment issue by going over and “flashing my million dollar smile 5 times”.
Lauren told me that wasn’t a good idea because I haven’t been able to get my face into a smile pattern. I’m not sure which muscles to move.
I said that I could use one of my three emotions instead of a smile. She said that wasn’t a good idea because:
Disgust wouldn’t be a good idea despite me using it in game towards teammates a lot;
Meh wouldn’t be good;
Over the top celebrations would be the worst.
I told Katzie to just pay the money because it shows integrity and class and it is really needed for the shelter.
I don’t think he paid it.
It’s good to get a second opinion.

Turns out they were lying and Mangiapane never had a firm offer from the Leafs, let alone higher dollar value
and his pinky swear promise of getting top 6 minutes may be evaporating as the same deal was given to Howard (then there is Savoie and the PodZ. I guess Hyman is hurt to start so maybe they will all get their chances)

Dear Diary. Ever feel like you are king of the world? I don’t mean that repeated dream from Titanic where Leon holds my arms and I’m flying! No, it’s making moves in my head and then they happen. Sure, I might say things like “and it’s part of my new contract” but other than that, it’s not out loud. Maybe.
I told GM Stan that I really wanted to see myself up on the sphere in Vegas, because of course my video would play, and he went and traded for a draft pick so I could get onscreen!
I already explained to Andrew that he could play on the other wing from Leon, but we probably wouldn’t pass to him. He also has to skate back to defend.
Remember two paragraphs ago when I was on the big screen when I drafted a player? Well I guess he “escaped from Edmonton” and now we have another player that I had to promise Andrew’s spot to. I saw his video, he’s a sharp dresser alright and I hope to learn his memo, but his pickup lines on Emily were terrible! She probably hears that 32 times every first round! Dude! He should have said “I’ll let you design and choose the colours of my house.” That always works for me! And he didn’t even have his special engagement ball hat like Leon’s. Ladies love those.
Anyways, I had to promise him Andrew’s spot which is actually Zack’s spot. Gonna be awkward at training camp!
