The police force is being created to cover 'gaps in service', but that's as specific as they are going to be about that. I'm betting one of the gaps is picking up political dissenters from their beds in the middle of the night.

It will work alongside existing branches of law enforcement to fill gaps and ensure that resources are used efficiently. And just like most other police services in the province, it will be run separately from the government, with civilian oversight,” she said.

I thought we weren't doing this?
Nothing screams efficiency more than duplicating a service that already exists and then somehow coordinating the efforts of those duplicative services. I am sure it will go swimmingly.

And the avalanche of stupidity from the UCP continues. It’s just one ridiculous thing after another with these clowns. This is such a far cry from the Alberta I grew up in. All of this s*** is just so goddamn embarrassing, shameful, and incredibly dumb.

I've thought for a long time that they should be :

UCP
Guthrie Conservatives
New Democratic Conservatives
Rhino Conservatives
Idiot Separation Conservatives

It's stupid that people get caught up in a naming convention, and it informs how they vote. And by a long time, I mean this morning.

If Smith is going be a petty toddler and won't let them have the Progressive Conservative Party, they should go with the Progressive Conservatives Party.

People started showing up for the Okotoks Liefest around 2 pm today, doors to be opened at 430. Someone told me it holds 800ish

You know what they say, when prices are at a record low ramp up production!

Alberta has settled with two of the companies suing the province for a collective $16-billion over the government’s flip-flop on coal policy.

Evolve Power Ltd. and Atrum Coal Ltd. say they have reached agreements with the government to resolve their claims alleging the de facto expropriation of their coal assets, according to notices posted to each company’s website.

What Albertans will pay the coal mining companies, however, remains unknown.

Meh, add it to the pile of unforced errors UCP governments have done to taxpayers based entirely on ideology and poor decisions. You know, like the Superlab/Dynalife fiasco, or handing over $1.3 billion to TC Energy for...reasons?

So that makes it:

Tylenol Debacle
Coal Debacle
Dynalife Debacle
Private Surgical Facilities Debacle (Pending...but I think we all know where this one is going)
Alberta Police force no one wants
APP no one wants
Silently nodding to/courting separatists

vs
Lightbulbs and PPAs

Ugh, can you imagine actually voting for those NDP clowns after all of that.

Now that you mention it I don’t recall there being a land acknowledgement. There was a lot of bull#### acknowledgement though.

Fight with Ottawa about everything but roll over for coal companies without so much as a whimper.
