The Alberta Next radio ads are so cringe.
Will give them credit for managing to perfectly summarize the Albertan victim complex in under 20 seconds.

Independent Alberta MLAs revive Progressive Conservative name to create new provincial party
https://www.theglobeandmail.com/cana...rvative-party/
Quote:
The two outcasts in Alberta’s Legislature have banded together to form a new provincial party, under the old Progressive Conservative banner.
Peter Guthrie and Scott Sinclair have been sitting as Independents since the governing United Conservative Party expelled them earlier this year. Now they are preparing to revive the Progressive Conservative Association of Alberta, the formal name of the party that ruled the province for 43 years before the brand became synonymous with entitlement and cronyism and evolved into the UCP.
But the pair, in a joint interview with The Globe and Mail, said they expect Albertans will associate the name with the PC’s better days. They plan to pitch it as a conservative alternative to the UCP under Premier Danielle Smith, who in November won the approval of 91.5 per cent of her party members in a leadership review.
“The UCP has gone off course,” Mr. Guthrie said. “The Premier has abandoned Albertans.”

Will the UCP be legally forced to remove "United" from their name, and henceforth be known as The Conservative Party?

Pff! Never! How can Manchester have a United and a City? If theres two teams then one can't very well be 'United' then can it? But they do it anyways.

Maybe Smith's legacy can be cratering the UCP just like she did the Wildrose.

From the article...
"Mr. Guthrie said a woman in Calgary had control of the PC’s formal name and approached the pair about its availability after they were kicked out of the UCP."
Who would that be? I have no idea

Calgary will soon be the home of Alberta’s new provincial police force, Premier Danielle Smith announced Wednesday.
Smith said the Alberta Sheriffs Police Service is not meant to “replace” the RCMP or any other police service.
“It will work alongside existing branches of law enforcement to fill gaps and ensure that resources are used efficiently. And just like most other police services in the province, it will be run separately from the government, with civilian oversight,” she said.

Sat Parhar is announced as head of these Keystone Kops...
"Chief Parhar's final years were turbulent at CPS, after being investigated and cleared by ASIRT over serious allegations in 2017. To some controversy, he was promoted while those investigations were ongoing in 2016."
Seems on brand for todays ucp.

Alberta announces the creation of a new police service. The Independent Agency Policy Service (IAPS). At the same time that the Alberta Next Panel is consulting Albertans about whether to create an Alberta Police Service to replace the RCMP.
Probably a good Q for the propoganda stop they are making in Okotoks today

This government sure is good at slicing and dicing and creating new things slightly different than the things we already have. Also, the acronym is lame.

Plot twist: the 'Progressive Conservatives' name will be used to re-brand the Alberta NDP.
