Meh. Nice enough player, doesn't affect the fate of the team overmuch. Give that money to Stone on his Calgary Flames annual tithe and move on.

Yeah that’s ok too… but Stone is awful.

Even if he wanted to do something, Conroy couldn't really do anything today unless he's trading Hanifin for the sake of trading Hanifin.

Puck pedia and cap friendly show $2.4M of cap space.

Capfriendly has Deuhr and Pelletier not on the roster and counting 10 forwards. They make $1.688 mil combined

He would actually be the Duehr/Jooris of this off season, and take that 4th line C spot.

This team needs a solid plan. If this team is thinking about off-loading even some of these UFAs they should be making signings to backfill them, because we do not have the organizational depth to backfill these six positions. They should have been taking advantage of the depressed UFA market and sign some of these guys to one or two years deals to provide some depth and then have additional players to move for assets at the deadline. Doing nothing does not help the situation the team is in. Having an actual plan where the team assumes control over the situation is where Flames will gain back some credibility. Doing nothing and giving control to the very players who want out is a failure and will only continue to do damage to the reputation of the club.

So for the saving future embarrassment, "what's the plan?"
There's absolutely nothing to indicate the plan is to do nothing. Conroy talked about having a plan today in his presser. I personally don't think it's a good idea to backfill when you don't know where your holes are yet. How is Conroy supposed to know what to backfill before deals to move and sign our UFA's happen? He said he expects things to open up on the trade front in the next 3 or 4 days. Good gracious, the offseason just started. Doing nothing on July 1st doesn't indicate or equate to doing nothing this offseason.

Bump - this is how you run an NHL franchise.

Quietly.

Conroy now 3/3 on July 1.

It feels like we need to lean into a lane more.

Are we trying to compete? Are we trying to rebuild? Are we getting younger bu trying competive?
