If you can get Byram and the key peice you give up is Ras, you do it.
Vegas is not finishing in the bottom 10

...an offersheet better not be coming from Calgary. Can't imagine it would be.
Vegas can't offersheet (no 1st in '26), Calgary shouldn't, LA makes sense to do it, could also St. Louis do it.

Vegas have just added Marner. They are not going to be a lottery-team, Andersson or not.

I really don't like to trade Zary. He is almost only forward who plays exciting game with high IQ and good little skill. And he didn't reach his ceiling yet. Just keep him.

Flames land Byram and we aren't finishing in the lottery either.

What ground work were you hearing in terms of pieces involved?

Love Byram. He'd easily be the LD on the top pairing and pushes Bahl down to where he can be effective.

Flames are dangerously close to the lottery with or without Byram. No way the 26 1st should be on the table. Wolf goes down or has a sophomore slump this team is likely bottom 10 and in the mix for McKenna

What if a trade does materialize for Ras via VGK and BUF and we land Byram.
Optics aside (but realistically, it's just a 4 team trade), what about then shipping Byram off to LA for the big return alluded to previously?
So, out = Byram, Ras
In = whatever VGK giving us + LA's return
We'd need to look for L sided D again, but I don't think I'd mind that (pending the pieces coming back obviously)

Flames aren’t spending a 1st on dman.
Has to be players involved. Farabee makes a lot of sense. No trade protection and he is signed.

That's a whole lot of whataboutism. Nothing wrong with that but they're not losing much and gaining a LD upgrade.
I don't think the performance gap between last year's Andersson and Rookie Parekh is that big.
Team will be better.

Anything other than the 9 to 5 chirp in junior? If anything his injury past would be the only thing to give me pause and that appears to be rectified.
I personally know him and would be thrilled to have him on my favourite team. No attitude problems that I know of.

I don't have that info up to date. I know part of what was discussed before with Buffalo was not only Byram but moving up to 9 in the draft. That didn't happen. I know in the past Buffalo has shown interest in Zary though. It's really hard to dig out any pieces right now. If I had to guess though because of past interest I would say Zary will be a piece.

I like the way this is shaping up.
To CGY Byram and vgk 2027 1st vgk cap dump
To BUF VGK Roster player Farabee
To VGK Double retained Rasmus

We will see. Flames always seem to do better when they have no expectations so I can see next year being more of a struggle. I tend to believe last year was a bit of a blip as teams took the Flames lightly last year. I could be wrong and last year was a building block season but it is too soon to risk a 1at rounder in a trade to find out.

This is what I’m thinking as well. Injuries definitely impacted RA. He seemed to be on the ice for a lot of goals.
Hopefully RA has a clean run to TDL.
