I get this as someone on the spectrum with MS. I often find myself writing out posts and then deleting them because the action of writing it out was enough for me to feel like I was able to kind of process things. I hope your health improves mrdonkey.

I get that, and we will have to agree to disagree. Also, leaking that garbage to the media is a dick move.

Asset management be damned at this point. CC tried to play nice. Dump him anywhere but Vegas.

Yep, but unless we move him the only team that he can do that with is us. So if he wants an 8 year deal he’s going to have to compromise.
This is his leverage right now and he’s using it. We still have the same leverage we’ve always had. I’m thinking this is just a part of the process.

Honestly needs to be an overpay to trade to Vegas. Even signing Marner, their defence is weaker this year with no Pietrangelo and, to a much less extent, no Hague. They will be desperate for a right hand shot, too line defenceman and none available are as good as Andersson. Plus his contract (retained) is all they could really afford. 3 first round picks + top prospect. It’s a price too high so Vegas won’t pay it but that would be the idea. The flames don’t want to sell Andersson to Vegas so they should have pay a crazy price to get him.

The good news it that rationale can be employed again at this year’s deadline. And if you’re not onboard, you’ll be a Debbie Downer who needs to just relax and enjoy the moment.

Screw Andersson and screw Vegas. Conny needs to put his big boy pants on and trade him elsewhere, even for a lesser return.
Lots gets made of GMs buckling and making bad trades and get taken advantage of by other GMs down the line. Well, agents will see conroy as weak and accommodating and this cycle will repeat unless he takes a stand.
Lose the battle but win the war. And fire one timers into Rasmus legs when we play him. See how the stare master fares. Good riddance.

Why do we let our players screw our trade options.
If he’s not willing to help I’d say F it. We’re getting the best deal we can. Screw you.

The best return is one that comes with him extended. It’s not a screw you too him sending him to Buffalo or something. We will get a pick and he can just walk. The only thing is he loses 2 years. If that’s the case I hope he gets a crappy contract as well.

I’ve been a fan of Cataford’s since his draft season. Very underrated player, he has a well-rounded skill set, and can do a bit of everything.
They also have Jakob Ihs-Wozniak, who is going to be a player.

No different than a UFA who makes a choice where he wants to go.
He’s saying there is only one team he’ll sign a contract with, otherwise he’s content to go UFA.
Going to a place he doesn’t want to be at is hardly throwing a bone. It’s a life changing decision.

At this point, it’s personal. Andersson has made it personal. Tkachuk had the class to give options as to where he will be dealt. Andersson isn’t showing the same courtesy. Have a #####ty year and hope it costs you money on your contract.

This.
Sit him for the year. See what that's worth to him. Flames are always too nice.

I’d be ok trying to pry more firsts out of Vegas. Their mo was to use the firsts as currency, and now they’re having to move roster players. If we take their firsts, they won’t be able to dump contracts going forward. I think they’re near their peak and arguably not close to a cup.

Reminds when Burke held on to Cammy because we got crappy offers. Thanks to Feaster setting a precedent as a pushover.
Now we have Conroy giving the keys to the players run things.

The Flames need to stop being everyone’s favorite uncle and maximize the return….the only clear win imo was Alviin and he’s proven to be almost as bad as Benning so that’s not saying much. Let him know if he loses the extra years it’s just business just like him saying he will only sign with Vegas is…

I don’t see how that helps short term or long term
Plus the Pa would have something to say about it
