I keep thinking that “thank you for your attention/assistance whatever is a movie quote, but I can’t find it so no idea.

Someone said Dr Strangelove, which is great to rewatch at this time of course.

The only times I've ever seen that phrase uttered was by attention seeking incels at work, just complete failures of adult human beings by any metric

At my old job we were always getting all these “warnings”, so we made these fake PSA signs “Another Warning!” It was hilarious.

Oh but when one CEO got smoked they hunted Luigi down like Seal Team 6 and trotted him around like Hannibal lecter. Funny how that works.
Where is this happening? I get most of my news from left of center major sources, and see a few articles about the Minnesota lawmakers today and nothing about NYC Mayor election.

His tweets that end with that sentence usually have far less random capitalisation than usual so I always figured someone else on his team writes those ones. That Steven Cheung chode has always been my assumption, so you might be right with loser incel types.

Yep, this about sums it up. America is done. What's left is how the pieces fall apart and how they affect us here in Canada and in the US.

It's funny because me and a friend of mine had "joking" plans about where to go in rural Alberta if society went south suddenly. We have an amazing "prepper" plan of where to meet, what we've accumulated (bought a bunch of stuff while drunk) and who's coming and how we'd get there if technology ceases.

It seemed so silly and fun at the time a few years ago. But at this point we've got a network of 20+ people that have a group, a spot and major supplies and an understanding to head to a specific spot west of Calgary if things suddenly took a turn and technology and supplies were gone for the average person. What used to be goofy has now turned to a bit of comfort.

Start growing your beard and top knot, jayswin! If you can work on fostering a holier-than-thou do0sh vibe, it's a big help. Toss in some cross country ski roller blade things and scoot around like you own the place and you'll fit right in.

Bonus points if you call Calgarians 'weekend warriors' while rolling your eyes and shaking your head.

Yeah, Canmore would be the last place we'd go. We're nicely settled away from civilization but accessible for decent vehicles. We have maps, plans and a reandaveau if all electronics suddenly go down, and a group that consists of hunters, chefs, experienced hikers etc. And best of all, it's all awesome people. If any wants to join the group let me know.

Speaking of holes...
Quote:
The Trump administration has codified its efforts to strip some Americans of their US citizenship in a recently published justice department memo that directs attorneys to prioritize denaturalization for naturalized citizens who commit certain crimes.

The memo, published on 11 June, calls on attorneys in the department to institute civil proceedings to revoke a person’s United States citizenship if an individual either “illegally procured” naturalization or procured naturalization by “concealment of a material fact or by willful misrepresentation”.
https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/...e_iOSApp_Other

Trump has the opportunity to do the funniest thing possible here. Revoke Musk's citizenship. Shouldn't be hard, since his brother admitted they were in the US illegally, and all the evidence supports that.

Quote:
The directive gives justice department attorneys wider discretion on when to pursue denaturalization, including in instances of lying on immigration forms, cases where there is financial fraud or medical fraud against the US or against private individuals; and cases referred by a US attorney’s office or in connection with pending criminal charges.
Elon lied about his visa status.
