Could see San Jose as a good fit too in a similar 3-team deal.
To Dallas: Andersson (50% retained) + Posposil + 32nd overall
To San Jose: Robertson + 18th overall
To Calgary: 2nd overall
Robertson is from California and fits their window to start getting better. They have Cellebrini and Snith up the middle so a top line winger would fit great with them.

Also if Andersson is going to Dallas the Flames can take on the Dumba contract with ease.

I literally shared the same proposals from the BR report Paulie alluded to.
Why would I try to claim something as my own knowing full well they are posted to the internet?
Nice troll job homie.
Please put me on ignore, I’ve done the same.

That’s a lot from the flames with retention too. I’d try and keep the second 1st and go wild with a Ryabkin or Kindel at 32

Chris Johnston also said it’s looking likely that Marchand stays and Ekblad wants a lot.

Could potentially make it work to keep the 32nd pick - maybe take back Dumba instead of giving up the 32nd overall pick.
To Dallas: Andersson (50% retained) + Posposil
To San Jose: Robertson + 18th overall
To Calgary: 2nd overall + Dumba

I don't particularly want a winger. So for that reason, I'm not keen. Plus I want more assets for Andersson, not less.
Teams trade star wingers for lots of reasons. The Avs traded theirs. Calgary traded theirs. Probabkly for the same reason Dallas did - to get ahead of the contract expiry. Robertson's ends next off season. He's making $7.7 now and I bet he wants 2-3M more.

We don’t want to be that team paying for other teams problems.

Yes, there is ask Treiliving. There is still no other explanation why James Neal got 5 x $5.75 at 30 on a down swing.

Love the line about Zary’s icetime decreasing.
He was just getting over a knee injury and then suffered another one

Interesting.
Could see something similar for Utah or Chicago as well.

Wonder what Treliving is cooking up. Losing Marner and Tavares hopefully. No picks or prospects. Love to see it

The difference is Rantanen is a proven winner and was traded because they didn't think they could afford him. It also looks like Colorado made a huge mistake doing that.
I can't compare it to Robertson though. He hasn't done anything for Dallas in the playoffs. It reminds me of when Florida was fine trading their star player because he doesn't have another level come playoff time.

There's two users on this forum that think Robertson is overrated and is a problem for Dallas, and anyone thats been on these forums more than a day knows you both have your own bias against Dallas because they work against your burn it the ground rebuild mantra.
Robertson is an elite player. Period. He's a career 1.05 PPG player, and a 0.786 PPG player in the playoffs, with last run being a bad run where he was injured amd the entire Dallas team looked like trash to where the coach got fired. He's 6'3 and 207 lbs and the Flames would have him for all of his prime years.
If you can do that for Andersson and a 1st in a draft that is apparently weak enough that you have multiple teams discussing trading their picks, you take it and run.
