Getting 14 from CBJ in an Andersson trade would be great. Pick Cs at 14, 18, and 32 and then see what develops.

3 center picks in the 1st round. 1 home run swing. Can't go wrong really. I'll take a Will Moore if not Ryabkin.

Or get 14 and use 14 and 32 to move up and draft McQueen. ... Then take the remaining of Reschny or Cootes.

He's not a bad gamble at 32. At some point Ryabkin was considered a top 10, borderline top 5 pick. He's got the talent, doubt he is there at 54.

with all the red flags, I really don't care if he got the talent. I hope we stay far, far away, but that's just me.

McQueen is my lofty hope. It’s a gamble for sure but more attainable than Misa whom would be my “go all in” choice.

This won’t be popular but I’m not liking the centres that are being rumoured to be available at 18. I know it’s a need but I don’t see top line on any of them. They all seem middle 6. Not sure he would be available at 18 but I rather have Lukavic than the Cootes and reschneys iof the world

I keep seeing mock drafts with Bear coming so close to the Flames at 18, but not quite. Man, if he made it to 14, I'd be on the horn with Columbus to trade up. I know, not a center, but I wouldn't care.

Yep. Bear at 14 and whoever is left of Cootes/Reschny at 18 and I’d be happy.

Bold Prediction: Flames trade down and draft someone no one has heard of (except Sandman of course). CP loses its mind calling the move Jankowski 2.0 until development camp when we all actually see the player and we're back to building a statue of Conroy.

Even though we need centers, if Justin Carbonneau was available at 18 I would have a hard time seeing the Flames pass on him. Second in points and goals in the Q behind a couple of 20 year olds. I just think the talent with Carbonneau is too good to pass on in favour of position.

I just can't see Carbonneau get past Montreal. With back-to-back picks in that range, I'd be shocked if they didn't use one of them to take the Quebec kid.

I don't know if he ends up a centre but I think if not for his injury he's a top 10 talent in this draft. So I would take the chance that he's healthy, and go for him on talent and skill set.

I’m not ready to commit Zary to wing just yet. Of all the center experiments last year he was the one guy who didn’t look out of place, right off the hop no less.

Still, yes we absolutely need more young Cs.
