Probably need more, need more juice. Misa is at least worth the Lindros package, he is the second best player in this draft.

More than enough, but CGY isn't trading Coronato.
I'd rather 2 1sts, Coronato and flip Rasmus for another 1st than 2nd OA tbh.
Giving up too much.

Andersson + 18 + 32 for sure. I'd try and add Zary over Coronato. Include Pospisil for the added edge he brings to SJ.
Andersson + Zary + Pospisil + 18 + 32 for 2 + Chernyshov and I would be ecstatic.

San Jose doesn’t need a collection of stuff. They need a high end d prospect like Parekh or a young top pairing dman. It’s why these picks never move. They only go for players other teams won’t trade.

Would something like this work? Assume Spurgeon waives:
To MIN: Andersson, Kulich
To BUF: Rossi, 18th OA, Brzustewicz, Spurgeon
To CGY: Peterka, Byram

They have high end D prospects, they need leadership and competitive top pairing D to train their young D. Rasmus isn’t old and has team control. He is old when you consider the flames window but 8 years with the sharks is great for them. I’m not saying it would be 1 for 1. Flames aren’t tanking so they need to buy better players. Gotta pay for it.

They can just sign vets. If I am San Jose I want Wolf if the Flames want 2nd OA.

They basically have no RHD prospects that are noteworthy. I don’t think there is a reasonable add to Andersson to get the 2nd.

They don’t need Wolf. They already bet on Askarov.

San Jose won't be asking for Wolf because they already have Askarov.

The only way teams trade top-5 picks is if the return includes a top-10 pick and/or an elite young prospect or player. The tactic of throwing in a bunch of medium-assets only works in video-games.

How does being the second best player in this draft equal Misa being worth at least one of the most hyped prospects of all time?

They do need RHD prospects, but they need a top pair RHD vet more. Their current RD depth is:
Liljegren
Thompson
Desharnais
Unless they want to flush another season down the drain, they need a top pair RD this season (not a prospect that needs to develop for 4 years). Liljegren should be serviceable as a second pair D and Thompson can take the third pair while Desharnais holds down the pressbox.
I think the big question is going to be the risk tolerance of Grier. Ekblad and Andersson are both available but if Grier waits for Ekblad there is a chance he misses both players.
The best thing that could happen for the Flames right now would be an Ekblad extension in Florida. C'mon!!

They are just coming out of their rebuild but anyways this the exact same talk as when people were trying to spin that Lindholm for the third overall made sense for Columbus. The Sharks might try and trade for Andersson but they won’t give up that pick.

Flames never move up, it’s always discussed ad nauseam but never happens. They won’t move up, will say they looked at all options and say the price was not something they were comfortable with.
Not saying this is right or wrong by the way, but I would be shocked if that changes this year.
There is a glaring hole in the prospect pool and you would think at some point they will be forced to address it at the draft by doing something aggressive. Flames just have zero history of doing this in the last 2 decades.

Guessing Marchand had a meeting with Florida and knows their figure for staying. As such he’s either trolling the Leafs sarcastically or he’s trying to get a higher figure by ramping up the fan base.

It’s getting busy with how close we are.
I see Franky boy confirmed what I said a few days ago, Flames open for business on Andersson. They’ve been fielding offers for a few days.
Still trying to explore moving up, but it’s going to be tough and costly.
Misa would be their main target.
I think if Calgary stays at 18 we may see Cootes over Reschny based on combine/interviews.
