Yes, Walman sucks.

The Hanifin return was fine. Pretty in line with past trades. Tanev return was a little weak for sure but maybe Grushnikov will turn out.

Just trade him in the offseason. His value won’t increase much even if he has a better year.

Trade Andersson for a 1st and prospect.

Use 2 of the now 3 1sts to move up to get one of the C's likely gone by pick 18.

Works for me.

If Andersson is traded, I'd prefer they get a 2026 1st that is unprotected. Similar to the Vegas pick.

More worthwhile to potentially move up in next year's draft. The 1st round picks could be anywhere, some could be high.

What playoff runs are those?

Almost exactly how i see things panning out.

My personal hope is that we can somehow get high enough to snag Obrien.

He got injured and Coronato took his spot. There's just not really any room for him on the roster now.

I'm going to bring this up again but I could see Florida being in on Andersson. I think Ekblad is going to walk.

Their cupboards are almost empty but I'd be ok with Samoskevich and 2028 1st. Other teams would probably beat that though because the 1st rounder Florida has is so far down the road.

FWIW - I’m sure there have been a couple teams who have called in on Coleman.

The 1yr deal showed the plan was undoubtedly to hope he played well enough to be a trade chip at the deadline for pick(s)/prospect(s).

I'd say they could do the same plan again next season, but it sounds like the plan this summer is to instead leave room for more young guys to fill out the roster. Which should both likely help team tank, but hopefully also give fans some shiny new coins to be excited about, on occasion at least.

McQueen, OBrian, Cootes, Reschny, Martin or Bear.

McQueen or Cootes for me though. I want that Right shot center. And I think Cootes is being slept on a bit.

Either, or. I'm okay with giving young wingers their shots too. We witnessed what a bit of confidence did for the Klapper. My hot take is Honzek makes the show and sticks next year.

Trade A)
To Detroit: Andersson (50% retained for next season and extended) + 18th overall
To Calgary: Danielson + 13th overall

Trade B)
To Columbus: Andersson (50% retained for next season and extended) + 32nd overall
To Calgary: Sillinger + 14th overall
Believe I’ve heard that Yzerman/The Wings are high on Danielson. Not sure how realistic it is to see him as part of a deal there.

That said, I agree that Detroit and Columbus make a lot of sense as far as trade partners go and if the Flsmes are to move up, these two spots seem to be attainable.

I liked him here as well, but I don't see a fit with all the wingers we have. I doubt you want to play him Coleman, or Sharangovich on the 4th line. I also wonder how well he would be able to keep up next year after the ACL surgery.

I prefer to see 2 of Honzek, Stromgren, Kerins, Morton and Suniev make the team out of camp.

Dont get me wrong. However we do it if O brien gets anywhere near tradeable range do it but keep 18. To me this could be where some of our winger assets could be used

I think Obrien is on the same tier as Frondel, desnoyer, hagens. Probably higher than most i admit.

Also agree on Cootes. If nothing happens and we just keep our picks and came away with Cootes and Zonnon i would be a happy camper.

I'd like to see Morton and Ciona both on the 4th line. Others will need to crack the top 9 or play in the AHL. This would require trades as right now, I'd like to see if we got something in Klapka.

I'd package Ras 50% RS with Coleman 50% RS or Zary. IMO you could get a very good pick for that package.

If I targeted unprotected 1sts, it would be in 2027, and I'd target the following teams.

Washington
Vegas
Winnipeg
NYR
Dallas
Boston

I think these teams are realistic to sign Ras and drop in the standings at the right time. Coleman would waive to go to most of those teams I would think and these teams probably all don't care about future picks as much as winning

If you target 2026 unprotected 1sts and load that team up this summer, I'd rather get a chance at O'Brien in this draft vs a late 1st next year.

It's probably pretty close, though hard to say because neither of these teams are competing anytime soon so no extension most likely.

This would be really solid for Florida.
