I'd agree.
He won't lose money if he takes a two-year in EDM until 30/31, because he'll still be considered the same caliber of player then.
He may wind up making more by going 2 years at a record-breaking AAV, then signing for even higher on the open market then, as opposed to going 8 in Edmonton and commanding much less value at 36 or whatever it would be.
And he can also get out of EDM before the roof caves in on them.

I do agree with you that his wife was the driver in making the decision.
BUT I don’t see anything wrong with that. Like if my partner REALLY REALLY wanted to live elsewhere—- I mean… I could be convinced for their happiness if I thought I could get atleast 75% of the way there to be as OK as my current situation.
That’s just how marriage is imo.

I asked ChatGPT to make me a Muppets image using the image of McTantrum and Pissy crying in the dressing room last season and this is what it gave me. I'm not sure why Pissy is green.

I could see the Oilers trading Bouchard for a goalie and to free up money for some other players. Bouchard gets good offensive numbers, but he is absolutely terrible in his own end. There is no way he is worth $10 or $11 million.
I hope I am wrong.

Let’s be clear here. Is McDavid leaving specifically for Toronto or is it him just leaving the oilers. Because you are adamant it’s just the Leafs.
He should be signing with Edmonton in the next 2-3 weeks I think.
