The risk of going into the season with him without an extension is insane. If its truely only Toronto they won't even get the big return

They don't have a choice. He has a NMC and the PR disaster of trading him would be brutal. They have no prospects or draft picks. Unless they can create cap space and sign some depth I don’t see him winning in Edmonton. Probably in his best interest to move onto another team. Tough call for sure.

when its broken down to 30mins you see how dominating it was...what planet is Ron on saying the Oilers outplayed the Panthers and the Panthers "didn't look good" like he is paid to talk about hockey and that is a fireable offense.

They are sturuggling to find an Oiler scoring chance in these highlights.

Anything short of an 8 year deal under 17M will be a PR disaster...there will be nothing else talked about until its done, or isn't. Going into the season with McDavid a pending UFA would be wild. (and I'm here for it)
