Where else is he going to get what he gets in Edmonton
He was basically gm, coach, player.
Edmonton be bending over for him for years, bring in his agent, minor hockey coach, players he wanted (Connor brown??)

Doesn't have to play D, cherry picks, floats, gets away with diving and crying constantly to refs all game, every PP full 2 min etc. I swear I saw him calling line changes for knobby too

Anywhere else he might have to learn to play the game

I don't believe I entered I told you so territory at all. I certainly thought that game could easily be a turning point though. That's not I told you so. If the Flames came back in a game like that I would absolutely think that would be a turning point.

In game 4 the oilers went up 4-3 and I said that's the series, and immediately after I posted that Florida tied it. Then I picked the Oilers to in on a pp in OT, and I quickly explained why I posted that, which was that I was instantly wrong when I said the Oilers had just won the series.

I wanted to be wrong again as soon as OT started.

This really isn't complicated.

Credit to Barkov for the way he covered and shut down McDavid.

Credit to the Panthers they just moved on. Any team giving up a lead like that to go up 3-1 would have folded especially having to go on the road. This team was different.

Best part of this summer will be to see what Bouchard's next contract looks like. I still think he's a pretty terrible player.
1st two Panther goals tonight were his (Bouchard’s) giveaways.

Yup between Barkovs line and Lundells line they suffocated Mcdavid over the last 4 games.

I said it before and I will say it again, Connor McDavid is going home. His whole life he has wanted to win Cups in Toronto, the fact they have not broken that curse makes it even more of a pull for him. He did his best to bring a Cup to Edmonton and the team that drafted him and he still has one more kick at it next year. He has earned the right at this stage of his career now to go after his dream, to be the hero that comes home and breaks the drought. What is the draw to stay in Edmonton? Winning a Cup? That would be nice and I am sure he would love it but he will always be in Wayne's shadow there. Draisaitl? Sure they are good friends but when has being friends with teammates stopped a guy from moving on? His wife's restaurant? Big deal, she can open one in Toronto as well. Toronto is where he trains in the offseason with his actual best friend Austin Matthews, his family and friends are there, it's where he spent his whole life wanting to play. Have you ever seen Connor McDavid's Leaf memorabilia collection? It's impressive. The source I have for this is rock solid, he is going to sign with the Leafs.

I hope they pay him at least the rumoured 11M x 8 years.. That would be amazing. Then McDavid walks, and all of a sudden you see that Bouchard isn't as good offensively when McDavid isn't creating room out there for him, or playing with him on the PP.

I don't think McDavid leaves, but who knows.

Lord Katz and OEG probably didn't include plaza caretakers in their budget.

Similar concern level as that which he has for the homeless.

I’d argue you could see that now by simply watching him play. But, Oilers.

Oilers can't play McDavid this season without an extension IMO...we are gonna find out soon if he is staying or going.

The risk of going into the season with him without an extension is insane. If its truely only Toronto they won't even get the big return
