McEnroe said before the French Open final that if Skinner or Alcarz played prime Nadal at the French, they would be favored to beat Nadal.....smh he's been retired less than a year and already McEnroe puts 2 players ahead of him on clay lol. Funny thing is Nadal is 2-0 against Sinner at the French.
Can't wait to hear at Wimbledon how Holger Rune would definitely beat Prime Federer
Late responding to this, I would still agree that prime Rafa at Philippe Chatrier is unbeatable across any era but against the current and future peak versions of Sincaraz, I think it's actually a high diff match. The overall speed and power of the game is significantly higher, you can see this not only in tennis highlights, but any sport that you're comparing 15-20 years ago to now. You can't just transport any jobber from today to the Big 3 peak and expect them to win, but Sincaraz are regularly pulling off shots and angles I didn't even know existed until I saw them this past year.
I don't think it diminishes anything Rafa or Roger or Djoker did back then to say that inevitably, athletic progression marches on, just as their games stomped on the Sampras/Borg/Laver eras before them. It would be funny to see an AI simulation of the match though, and how salty it would make half or more of tennis fandom as a result.

In other tennis news, Rebecca Marino at a WTA 125K event in England defeated the young phenom Alexandra Eala 1-6 6-0 7-6(4)
I think Eala's development and schedule have been managed poorly since the Miami run. Everyone in her circle took their eye off the ball, thinking she made the jump to Andreeva level in that instant.
Bah, Felix loses 6-4 7-6 to Taylor Fritz. I watched this match and as you can guess on a fast, grass court, it was serve dominated. Felix had one poor service game in the opening set and that was the difference. Not much between the two guys in set 2. Oh well, on to Halle for Felix.
All right, Gabe is into the Den Bosch final following a 6-3 7-6 win over Ugo Humbert. Really nice tennis from Gabriel today, tons of variety including coming to net to put the pressure on Humbert.

Rebecca Marino had a very good week making the final of the WTA 125K event in England, but she loses in the final to 17 year old Iva Jovic 6-1 6-3. Keep an eye on this young American, she has an excellent game, she's not the tallest and doesn't have a big serve, if anything, she looks like a young Simona Halep.

A meteoric rise for Diallo continues. I don't want to get too ahead of myself, but I see big things for this kid with a very Fritz like game to him with potentially a better serve.

I'll just say this, if Gabe can beat Zverev five consecutive times like Fritz has (most recent being yesterday in Stuttgart), that would be incredible.
Shapo pulls out a tough three set win in Halle just not over Ugo Humbert 6-4 4-6 7-6(4). That's a big win coming back from a break down in set 3 and Humbert must be getting tired of playing Canadians.

Felix also goes three sets and is victorious 6-3 6-7 6-1 over Laslo Djere. Gabriel Diallo is taking on Billy Harris at the Queen's Club tourney and that match starts shortly.

Gabriel Diallo makes it 3-for-3 for our Canadian male heroes today defeating Billy Harris 6-1 3-6 6-4. Gabe took a nasty spill serving for the match at 5-3, but luckily was no worse for wear and broke for the win after being broke serving for the match.
