Yup Marchand is the hero we didn't know we needed. But here we are.

Really proud of this forum, it's almost unanimously against Edmonton which is how it should be. In regular walks of life I'm really having a hard time with either:
a) Oiler fans that are normally quiet coming out of the woodwork
b) Casual fans that just want to see a Canadian team win

We've seen some of the above in this forum but I'm proud to see that for the most part, we remain united.

Never hated Marchand, loved him when he played for Canada in the World Jr Championships. And he played in the Eastern Conference I only see him twice a year when he played the Flames.

There should be a Marchand-dedicated timeout at the dome and a standing ovation.

Both kill my faith in humanity just a little every time. Especially since the Oilers started going after criminals.

Yeah thank whatever divine entity you wish that the Bruins could not come to an agreement with Marchand. I don't think they'd be leading the finals if they didn't have him. About as good of a last minute add as I can remember.

It's really the kind of TDL add that teams dream about and always hope they're getting, but rarely end up with.

And as good as Marchand has been, Seth Jones has been pretty damned good for them. He's not perfect, but way better than your average trade deadline dman pickup. Just ask Brad Treliving.

Florida had an outstanding trade deadline.

Also shots of Oiler “fans” leaving game early to beat traffic. I thought that NEVER happens in Canada, only non-hockey US markets.

lol, Sportsnet is airing the segment about who the Oilers should start for game 6 and they have a picture of Jeff Skinner and Pickard.

Oilers were never going to look good in that game after NO DAYS OFF Knoblauch practiced back to back in Florida.

This stat tells me the series is over...

Series ice time:
McDavid 144 minutes
Barkov 122 minutes

As mentioned earlier I was at a family function with relatives from SK where my kids and I were the only non-oilers fans. Just hung out in the background enjoying the dejection, saw bits and pieces.
Now I'm watching the game in 30 min. 3rd period:
- Pissy clearly high sticks a guy in the face, yet puts his hands up like the guy is faking. Leon is such a POS. Like, clear high stick.
- Marchand just absolutely undressed d-bag Walmart and scored. Oh my god is that satisfying. And Cross-eye goes off the ice shaking his head after the goal. Could this game get any better? I know the result, so I know it does, but so good to see the oiler's biggest scumbags get embarrassed.

My cousin's husband- (Edmonton fan) to me tonight: "So, nothing about Edmonton in the finals excites you, nothing? Not even having a Canadian team in the SCF?"

"Nope, not at all. This isn't the olympics, it's not an international competition. Born and raised Calgary fan, provincial rival since the 80's. So.... no". Guy still seemed puzzled.

Someone help me fall asleep with a lovely bedtime story about the Oiler’s cap situation next year.
How much do we figure Bouchard will make? Highest paid dman in the league probably, eh?

The best part is seeing these circus clown oilers fans with their hard hats and full face paint (most have never worn coveralls or a hard hat in their life I'd bet ) looking at each other dejected, like, what happened?
Nights like these are to be cherished.
And Perry coughed up the 4th panthers goal. Nice job you little molesting POS.

Is Marchand the best deadline acquisition in history? He’s changed that team and may win them a cup.

Not to mention the double standards.

So Sam Bennett doesn’t dominate the plugs of the league, however… he can fight through a check & not throw his hands up like a toddler every time he’s touched or impeded from building a play.

If McDavid was cross checked in the hips like Bennett was to start the game the calls for a penalty would be off the charts.

You have to go to back to Stu.

If they start Pickard, game 4 might be Stu's last in an Oilers jersey.

Final TOI (top three on each team):

Ol'Crosseye: 27:47 (please pay that man 10 x 10)
McDavid: 25:49
Pissy: 23:09
Darnell was next at 20:18

Panthers:
Forsling: 25:01
Ekblad: 24:14
Reinhart: 20:35

Depth.

Interestingly- Tkachuk: 14:34?
Marchand: 13:55
