He's suspended due to a positive drug test. It's been like 6 months, appealing the B sample i think.

Dreadful game. No flow in it at all. Jebbison looks not at all up to the hype. Nelson made some poor decisions in attack. Some childish stuff after the whistle. Adekugbe with what looks to be a bad injury too.

Luc de Fougerolles looked great in his short cameo. I have no issues seeing him in the lineup at the moment.

Probably best to avoid PKs in any major tournament moving forward.

In other news, Poch must feel he's back at Spurs, though not sure they were ever this terrible under him.

US fail to get a shot on target in a 4-0 drubbing vs the Swiss.

In positive news, Waterman's best showing and Cornelius with a fairly solid shift too. The midfield looked brutal. Osorio is done.

I'm surprised that Marsch fully rotated the starting group but I would say he's learned a lot from these two games

Looking forward to the Gold Cup!

And water is wet, Adekugbe has a calf injury. Poor guy's body just can't hold up for any length of time

I think Marsch was always going to use these friendlies to get to know more of the players. His introduction to the team was rushed, so the results here don't even matter to me.

Poor showing by Toronto fans though.

I think the times sucked, why kickoff at 8:30 on a Tuesday night?

Inaugural tournament too, in future versions maybe get a marquee team.

The MNT will always play in Toronto because it's a grass pitch and an easy flight from Europe. But crowds have been disappointing since the last qualifying cycle. I guess people will jump back on the bandwagon for the 2030 qualifiers...

The WNT is playing games around the country and some of the places they play are not any better than what we have in Calgary. They'll play on turf in Langford, they'll make players use portapotties in Halifax, they'll play in a 75% empty stadium in Winnipeg (which to be fair was only becuase it was a sendoff match for Desiree Scott) or in front of 90% opposition supporters in Montreal.

I would argue Calgary should be able to to host a WNT game at Spruce Meadows or maybe McMahon now that there's turf.

The dude needs reps. I love that he has committed to Canada but I don't think he's in the top 4 or 5 guys in the pool currently. He has a lot of potential but if he isn't going to be playing consistently with Bournemouth he needs to get out on loan for his own development.

Calgary could be the home base of the women's team. Calgary is easy to fly to and you are right that they could play at Atco, or for really big matches, McMahon.

Devastating for Sam

Brutal for Sam. He's just had terrible luck with injuries since his club in Turkey was devastated by that Earthquake. Should have enough time to recover for World Cup in a year but it'll be tight. I have to think that will drive him in his recovery.

The lone solace in the injury (if you can really call it that) is that Elijah has torn both his achilles in a 4 year span, so he will have someone to lean on with his recovery.

I hope he can come back but I am worried this was his last appearance in a Canadian shirt

This one is on OneSoccer, of course, and also on TSN.

A bit of a later kickoff at 8:30 MT, which I always like. This also jives well with a bit of late-game side-screening as the hockey season hopefully comes to an end in a torrent of greasy tears.

Cornelius is apparently injured. De Fougerolles looked real good in the friendlies and now is his chance to lead the line. I don't think Waterman is good enough for this level but let's see what he has.

I have never rated Oluwaseyi so not thrilled to see him start, especially with Promise David scoring on his debut. Guessing he and Shaffelburg will come off the bench at some point.
