Brady Oliveira had a great start to the game (2 carries and 49 yards), but is currently in the Winnipeg dressing room.

Winnipeg crowd was great! Made the Stamps look like a U Sports game.

Tough night in Winnipeg regarding injuries as Oliveira suffered an upper body injury (could have been a shoulder) while Nathan Rourke suffered an oblique injury and was forced to leave the game as well.

It was really shocking seeing how empty it was for a home opener. Almost zero wait for any concessions and bathrooms during the game.
Saw Tre Roberson sitting a row down from us though, cool to see him still in town - wonder if DD will give him another shot if some injuries pop up.

Tickets start at $29. I don’t think that’s the problem.

The problem is, is that the City of Calgary sports fans have stopped caring about the CFL and the Stampeders. I don't know how you fix that, because it certainly took 20 years to dismantle. Obviously, ownership is an enormous part of the problem. I don't know what the solution is, but it shouldn't be this way.
I also, and I'm sorry if this sounds combative, I also hold a lot of NFL-obsessed Calgarians who couldn't give a #### about the CFL, just as much to blame as the ownership. If you have time to watch the NFL, and if you have the emotional attachment to the Houston Texans or the Green Bay Packers or the Pittsburgh Steelers, how can you not support your local team too? It just strikes me as... I don't even know.

I think you can be an NFL and CFL fan as I have been of both my entire life. I just think that CFL fandom is cyclic and Stamps are on a down period. Every single market has struggled over the decades and it's just the Stampeders turn.

Also, I think there are some fans that are taking a wait-and-see attitude with the Stamps as the last two seasons have not been good from not only a winning, but an entertainment standpoint. Let's revisit how things are looking on Labour Day and if the Stamps look like a team that is a playoff contender, there's nothing like a winning team to put some butts in seats.

I think new ownership and a downtown stadium would go a long way to getting interest back in the Stamps. Not likely either happens anytime soon.

Sports media in this town doesn't help either....listen to fan960 during the fall when both CFL and NFL action is going on. Non-stop talk about NFL (audio highlights from every game) and related gambling and pools. CFL is a mention at the end of the sports updates (after golf, tennis, WHL, baseball etc), and the mention is mostly just the scores, not even really much talk about the Stamps game or highlights. That is mostly Rogers though likely!

Great run and I've seen roughing the passer flags thrown for less.
