Jesus tonight I heard that Cuthbert saying Sam Bennett was ‘digging in’ on a faceoff
Why are they trying so hard to make two words from McDingus’s tantrum last year (while people ignored him and put stuff on shelves) part of the every day hockey vernacular ?
Nobody in the room was listening, by all appearances, so why is Sportsnet obsessed with it, and trying to make it work?

They were despicable, like truly the dregs.
But lets not lose all sense of perspective here.

Agreed.
Barkov and Tkachuk obviously both have another gear, for example.
McDavid is doing his thing and Draisaitl is scoring. Not sure there is a 'next level' from the oilers outside of converting on more PPs. This is what they are. Pesky and dangerous, but no match for a Panthers team if it's at full flight.
Feels like the cats have been ramping up over the course of these games.

Looking at the reaction from Oilers fans they are blaming the refs and Skinner.
Yes, in a double ot game where they lost on a breakaway they blame their goalie. And in a game where they had 7 pps they blame the refs.
What a delusional fan base.

Marchand with two unbelievable reads to get those breakaways. First one was ballsy. What a player.

The Panthers need to keep leaning on the Oilers and pressuring them into mistakes.

This is how they win a series. They wear you down over the course of a single game, but especially over 7 games, so that at the end you have nothing left and they walk all over you. It was especially apparent in the Leafs series. This one is already reminding me of that one, but the Panthers look better overall to start and aren't getting a lot of help from the refs so far.
We will have to see how the first few minutes turn out for them on home ice. Panthers haven't been lights out at home in the playoffs, but I get a sense of them picking up their game now. It's still gonna be a tight series, but I have faith in the Panthers.
Stay tuned faithful Flames fans!

It was probably someone on here but I saw a truck drive by yesterday with two Panthers window flags. I enjoyed it.

I love the OT winner on the road where the entire arena goes silent (particularly in Edmonton!). It’s so awesome, and you just hear all the Florida players celebrating.

Good on the Panthers for getting the split. Now take the next 2 at home! I feel like this series is the cats to lose, but they need their 1st line to get going. If the depth can keep scoring and Barkov/Reinhart come back, they should demolish the Soil.

Barkov and Reinhart (who were 1 and 2 in the Selke voting this year) have the job of shutting down McDavid. If they don't score, but also keep him under wraps, consider it job done.
That leaves Bennett's and Lundell's line to wreak havoc on offense, which they've been doing pretty well so far this playoffs. It's a winning formula.

I'm ordering Panthers car flags to fly this week.
It's time to hit back at the clown plates, jerseys and flags polluting this fine city.

And Skinner is playing his very best. Even a small slide there and the Oilers are in big trouble.
