We don't have to bottom out. Pepsi made his own statement to debate against himself, I never said that. They probably just need to move Rasmus for futures and maybe Coleman to a contender and it might be enough to drop into the top 10 but still be relatively competitive. I just think they need some more top 10 picks try to get one blue chip potential star forward at least. They arent ready to start adding yet. Im concerned about these quotes about spending in FA we are hearing. This current core isn't even as good as the 2015 one.

So, you are saying that Oilers fans have had it way worse than us the last 15 years? You are saying that they don't go to games and watch Mcdavid who is pacing to put up 2000 career points and not enjoy it?

3 conference finals in the last 4 years and back-to-back Stanley cup finals isn't fun for them?

Tanking and getting McDavid isn't unlikely. But what about Barkov, Mackinnon, Matthews, Crosby, Ovechkin, Stamkos, Malkin, Hedman, Doughy, or the 33 superstars taking in the 75 picks in the 2004 to 2018 drafts in the top 5? 33 I count that are better than a guy like Kadri or Weegar. Those odds are better than winning the lottery and most years you don't need to be 50 point bad to sneak into the top 5.

Trade Rasmus, Kadri and Coleman for picks and this team could be bad, if not well once again you traded older players for more picks and the young guys played better than expected. Win win

I think the difference is the Sharks have some building blocks now and if they have good management, can build a team who can contend in 4 or 5 years. Not a guarantee by any means, but lots of reasons for optimism.

The Flames meanwhile have a lot of aging assets. If Parekh ends up being elite it can change a lot. But having a great goalie really doesn't make you a contender. The most important position is center and we don't have any great ones. A lot of things would change if we tanked and got the #1 pick next year.

Right now the most likely Projection for the Flames if they don't believe in a rebuild is being a bubble team. Being somewhere between a Minnesota Wild team and best casw a Winnipeg Jets. Where they are fine teams but not really true contenders.

I don’t know if you just quoted the wrong thing but… no?

Oiler fans are having a great time right now. What are you talking about?

I was actually responding to DiracSpike who mentioned bottoming out, you were in a different conversation. But thanks for paying attention.

Jack Eichel was the missing piece to a title in Vegas. Why are we discussing him? He wasn’t the issue in Buffalo. The issue in Buffalo is the same issue in Calgary.

Rhett was bang on yesterday on Barn Burner.

The Oilers offense can be shut down, including McDavid and Draisaitl. You just need to play them hard every shift. You can't play a different game against them just because you have a lead. It's exhausting and you might lose because of that, but if you don't, you almost certainly will lose. If you give them too much space, it just becomes too easy for them. If you put pressure on them, they break down, but if you don't they'll pin you in.

If Florida can't trust their 4th line, then they are hooped. They are going to need them to give their other lines a breather.

They should dress Puljujarvi on the 4th line - he probably has a bit of an axe to grind.

Thank you, I'm usually bang on!

I really hope someone smokes McDavid. I hate how most players avoid pushing him even.

Calgary had 10 top picks, including 2 #1 overalls and 2 #2 overalls, in ten years?

The problems in Buffalo are something specific to Buffalo. Calgary is stuck in the middle. If Calgary was working with Buffalo's talent, Calgary would not be in the middle. Two entirely different problems.

I have only watched 2 oiler games this playoffs. the one where Draisaitl scored on his own net with .5 left, and the first Dallas game.
Was invited to a friends to watch tonights game, so with 99% certainty I can call it an Oiler loss.
I also watched the NBA game last night and was cheering for the Thunder.
I bring that kind of energy to the sports world.

A Panthers win tonight and all the talk of 'it's over' is erased. And all the oilers fans saying 'oilers in five' (I've heard that a lot since wednesday, surprisingly) will shut it pretty quick. Heading back to Sunrise, tied, would look good on Florida.
If FLA loses tonight it's really bad news, with the grease pigs having home ice advantage. Not insurmountable, as FLA came back from an 2 game deficit against the Leafs. But the Oilers aren't the leafs.... Really hoping they get a win tonight to shut all the bandwagoners up for the weekend.
Any flames social media site (flamesnation etc) discussing flames fan loyalties these days seems to be filled with grease pig fans trashing the flames. I guess they have nothing else to do in Edmonton besides collect their EI checks and check social media while sitting in their own urine?

I saw a hockey clip on social media yesterday where Steve Ott was mocking meth-bag Kassian on the bench. If you haven't seen it google it- hilarious. The comments were all from oilers fans praising Kassian for going after Tkachuk. The clip literally had nothing to do with Tkachuk. I posted that Tkachuk was forever in the heads of oilers fans, to which I got several quick replies from oiler fans about how Kassian manhandled him and he's done nothing this series. Which just proved my point.
I can't bring myself to wear a FLA shirt, but trying to find an old Tkachuk flames shirt to wear around.

Refs must be unhappy with the amount of attention they didn’t get after game one.
