No team will unearth the next great head coach by cycling through retreads so I'm fine with the hire.

Unfortunately your coaches wouldn't be able to keep players accountable. The players would know that all they need to do is pout, and play bad to get a coach fired.

Sounds like a guy that will be a placeholder for the early portion of the next rebuild. Then they will get a real coach.

According to the Athletic, he was a head coach in the USHL twice. Also spent time with the USNDP. So probably a hire for the young guys.

I might be wrong but I think he was head coach for the US juniors that won gold a couple of years ago as well so yeah probably a good hire for the soon to be very young pens.
