Yes, because you and Dino think you own the forums and that no one can have a differing opinion. If someone doesn't go along with the group think they get attacked.
You can clearly ignore my posts. Hell, you have said you will ignore my posts about 20 times. But yet every time I post anything, you two whine about it. And it's not just me, it is any poster who has a different opinion to you.
No, I am not an Oilers fan. No, I do not want them to win the cup. Now stop moaning about everyone who has a different opinion than yourself and let people share their opinions without attacking them.
Maybe get a thicker skin...if you are gonna call a series over after 2 periods and take long victory laps after an Oiler win people just might call you out. You have mentioned me by name in like 4 posts today and I don't give a flying ####. Also, what is this opinion you are being attacked about exactly? You said they might win or they might not lol...that is the big opinion?
People can pick whatever team they like...we can debate it no? We have a guy calling himself a diehard Flames fan saying he is cheering for the Oilers...yeah, he might be made the subject of fun on a messageboard.

I hadn't even mentioned you or replied to your posts until you attacked Dino and i out of the blue. You really think you can just target posters and they should not defend themselves? That's not how this works. If you don't want me replying to your posts then stop targetting me in them.
I'm a diehard Flames fan. Have been since the first game they played in the Coral. I'm also a Canadian hockey team fan so as the Flames are not in the playoffs, I'll keep cheering for a Canadian team. I cheered for the Canadiens, the Jets and the Leafs. I also cheered for the Oilers and will continue to do so. I don't give a hoot what some of you think. Go Oilers, Go!

You're either a troll in a tacky horse suit or you misunderstand on a fundamental level what it means to be a diehard Flames fan.
Or old age has made you soft. I don't think that's enough to justify such a statement, though. It's not like we were holding hands with them back in the day. The hatred runs deep, and as it should.
Let's have a vicious victory
and let a biased media
continue to implode,
In their unwavering devotion to
the ones , the 2, accordingly great , best ones.,
that can’t pull it off
and never will
with the edmonton oilers

These clowns sucked for a decade. They kept getting (and ruining) 1st overall picks. They should have been relegated to the AHL. They sucked so bad the league had to make a draft lottery to keep them from getting first overall picks. This isn't some wild anti Oilers opinion, this is literally what happened. And what did the oilers do? They finished bottom 5 and won the new lottery to get mcdavid.
Nothing about this is earned, ethical, honest. It's a depraved organization that won a draft lottery they themselves forced the league to make, that hires morally repugnant swine who had their contracts terminated, and signed them on the cheap. No joke, this team will make a move on Carter Hart next year, guaranteed.
If you cheer for the oilers, and you aren't from shelbyville, you're a loser.

40 year old on their first line
Waiver pickup on line 2
So deeeeeep!
Lol their success or failure is on 2 guys like always be real. A goal by your first line winger setup by McDavid isnt depth scoring contrary to SN opinion
Because of how the Salary Cap is exploding, Oilers are going to be able to run the exact same team back next year if they choose and thereafter I believe even after McDavid's new contract as the cap climbs to $104M in 2026-27 and then to $113M the following year.
This team is going to be able to continue adding. It's just now a matter of sitting around and praying annually that they don't win. They'll just be a perennial contender by the looks of it as they're not going to get "capped out" like teams in the past. Players will continue flocking there and taking up their newly acquired cap for a "chance to win".
The Panthers are literally our best shot every season. Mackinnon and the Avs need to stop choking every year.
Other teams will have cap space too, an more of it
Drai and Bouchard get their raises next season and the cap goes up 7.5M. Where is this extra cap coming from? McDavid and lol Skinner the year after. Ekholm and Perry are nearly done. They are the oldest team in the NHL they are not "running it back" every season. This year is their best shot.
Your math isn't mathing...Drai and Bouch bomb raises eat more than the entire cap increase.
Drai goes from 8-14M
Bouchard goes from 3.9 to 11M

They have $12M in cap space to accommodate Bouchard raise and decide which of Perry, Skinner, Klingberg, Brown they want to bring back. They're already at 19 skaters for next year. Bouchard would make it 20. I think maybe they might bring back Klingberg on a discount, maybe another player. That's it.
They won't be bringing back Skinner who has been relegated down the lineup as the season progressed.
It's not the EXACT same team but it is practically 99% of it.
Then the cap jumps $9M the year after and then another $9M the year after that. Which is more than enough to accommodate McDavid's new contract and then add additional players.

lol go look at all their UFAs the next two years...that 9M needs to be stretched between like six players. You think they will be paying their starting goalie 2.6M in two seasons?
The Oilers have 2 dmen, 4 forwards and no golies signed beyond next year. All these players know the cap is going up too.

I'm utterly shocked that you haven't realized this by now.
McDavid, Draisaitl is essentially all they need. They play half the game.... more of it if you actually take into consideration the scenario. they impact a majority of the game. The rest of the team just "holds the line" while they are off the ice. These other supplementary cast will be replaced by "like" players who want to play there. McDavid is 600 pts behind Crosby who I've considered the easily the greatest player in the last 25 years....and McDavid is 28.....and has played 10 less seasons....We're HALFWAY through his career in an Oilers uniform. I don't know why you think there is an imminent implosion coming. I'm not saying they are sure-fire Cup winners but what I am saying is there is no implosion on the cards as long as McDavid's around...they'll always be contenders....and the MASSIVE cap increase has pretty much guaranteed that. That's pretty torture to think that there's another decade left of this nonsense.

Okay goalpoasts...they will not be bringing back the same team let alone adding to it. They are the oldest team in the NHL and have some MAJOR raises on the horizon. Their goaltending is currently costing 3.6M total, their top line winger is 40. Their #1D is 36 This year is the best the Oilers will ever be.
IMO if you like. Lets not downplay 6 and 7 million dollar raises like it won't effect them at all.

"Oldest team in the league" - except McDavid, Draisaitl and Bouchard are still young. The older players will just get replaced.
"Goaltending" - they've already proven they don't need elite goaltending to get to back to back Cup Finals. They just need League Average goaltending.
"Cap Raises" - have been bailed out by the league increasing the cap from $88M to $113M over a couple of years. Don't pretend this doesn't alleviate this constraint.
I never argued this wasn't their best chance at winning the Cup. I just don't forsee a dramatic implosion happening all of a sudden next year and then onwards. As long as McDavid and Draisaitl are around, they will always be in the mix.
Margins are slim, Coilers were one chip off the boards from a likely 1st round exit. I'll never forgive you Byfield
I do agree with you here except I believe the "what if" scenarios apply to all playoff runs and championships.
What if Klay Thompson didn't pull a rabbit out of the hat in Game 6 of the NBA WC Finals, KD would have never left OKC and joined the Warriors.
What if Ray Allen didn't hit that 3 point shot with a few seconds on the clock, the Spurs would have beat Lebron's Miami Heat in the Finals.
More recently...what if Toronto had won that Game 3 vs Florida in Overtime instead and would have been up 3-0.....they might likely be in the Stanley Cup Finals.
It's just part of sports but we will all never forget Byfield's gaff.

The rising cap just makes filling out a team with UFAs harder. GL getting NHL average goaltending for 2.6M
Even Stu Skinner will cost at least 5 now.
I'm not suggesting they will be the Sharks next year but it will be a steady decline. I mean you can scoff about Perry but he is probably their 4th or 5th best forward right now. People probably said as long as Crosby/Malkin are around they will always be in the mix.
