I don't know why that is shocking. Vegas has the Oilers as the slight favorite to win the cup.
It'll probably be a really close series unless Skinner falls apart or McDavid goes into god mode. I was much more confident last year though in Florida, just because of the extra revenge motivation the Oilers will have.
I'm not picking either team, but I'm prepared for the worst to happen.
Oh. I was fully expecting you to make Florida your new Dallas and point out a bunch of reasons why they'll bow out in 4 or 5.
Maybe that'll happen after 2 periods if the Oilers have a lead.

Tkachuk suffered a broken sternum in the final last year. His groin injury from the 4 Nations isn’t fully healed, so he’s not at 100 per cent his year either. Nothing to do with effort level.
He also broke his hand on John Klingberg’s head before our series against the Oilers. He should stop fighting. He isn’t very good at it.

Haha, wont pick a team...grow a pair. If Dallas as as bad as you said this should be no problem. Despite being "bad" they had a higher expected goals in 4 of 5.

Yes, we know you have been picking the Oilers to get swept every round. And according to the expected goals the Stars are a great team and should have won the cup.
I'm not going to pick a team because I can't pick my most despised team to win a series. And I'm not about to jinx the Panthers either.

haven't picked them to get swept once
you dont want to pick because you want to say I told you so without the risk
Anything is possible in hockey but on paper the Oilers, especially without Hyman are not a better team. I think the Canadian media is rubbing off on some posters. Panthers were already a favourite and added Marchand and Jones.

I remember the top of the 2014 draft well and lucky for the Flames they were able to be in the mix in a draft that was considered 4 deep at the top. Now for the second straight year all 4 of those players are going at it again.
Florida has 6 players picked in the top 6 from the 13, 14, 16 drafts with the Panthers only picking 2 of those players.
Very close to call.
I think the additional of Marchand & subtraction of Hyman are huge.
I also think the Oilers losing last year will make them better than last year, similar to how Florida was last year.
Just hoping and cheering for the good guys.
Even if the Oilers win I want some pushback, that's all I ask! Last 2 rounds were torture seeing them completely dominate Vegas and the Stars. When push came to shove, both those teams disgustingly wilted and I know the Panthers would at least take some flesh.
This has largely been one of the most boring years of playoff hockey I've ever seen. I just want to see an even and entertaining series IF NOT for complete Panthers domination.
I think if it is the Canes vs Oilers, then it would be Oilers years because the Canes just got back to the final and Oilers been here last year and Oilers' hunger will help them over take a team just got back to the final. Unfortunately for the Oilers, it's Panthers in the final, and Panthers want a repeat and they know how to win cause they've been there.

He is totally behind the Oilers. He is salivating at the thought of the Oilers winning so he can feast on the misery and negativity on here.
