I’ll honestly say they’ve made the main event feel like Mox is a true POS who’ll stop at nothing as a heel to keep the belt from everyone. But this is Ospreay’s year, he’s easily deserving of the title. TC mentioned Darby, which would also be amazing.

WrestleMania 42 is no longer being held in New Orleans and not only is there a rumor it's going to be held in Vegas again but that they will hold it there 'on a regular basis'.
Watch The Rock show up next year just to piss me off he didn't this year after involving himself in the Cena/Cody storyline.
I know nothing is stopping me from going again but that was an expensive trip and not something I'm interested in doing again. I'm also not interested in going back to the States for atleast the next four years because of the Oompa Loompa in the White House.

Double or Nothing was a really fun PPV. I liked the unpredictability of the Owen finalists and the matches were great.

On the contrary Saturdays Main Event sucked. It was 90% advertisements.

AEW is feeling more like "good" AEW again.
So that's good.

Ya that drove me nuts. Feels like TKO has to get every dollar from ads they can as of late. Glad I recorded it.

They’ve overcome a ton of injuries last year and in 2023 even, production was still good but they’ve got their own style and even the Death Riders stuff is paying off. All In should be a good one, and Fyter Fest as well!

Honestly that's broadcast TV in general but WWE promoting their own products makes it worse.
You get what 20 minutes of commercials of TV for every 60 minute slot, and then part of WWE is pushing their own ads too at times (Sponsors, WWE Shop, PPV ticket sales, etc) so then suddenly it feels like at least half the time is commercials.

I don't care how much you hate the Bucks, they absolutely did their job in that match. Also, if you hated that match, you're a crumudgeon.
Double or Nothing is the clubhouse leader for best PPV (sorry, PLE) of the year.

Nothing against anyone who likes that sort of thing, but any time a staple gun comes out in a match I quit watching.
It not just that it is gross for the sake of being gross, but if you were in a real fight, you'd be better served hitting someone over the head with one than trying to staple them.

Kind of a weird hill to die on in terms of suspension of disbelief. Pretty much every aspect of pro wrestling would be completely useless in an actual fight.

Obvious co-operation in a match bothers me. Delayed top rope spots, obvious group waiting around to catch a guy going from the ring to the mat, that kind of stuff is lame ( to me).
Again nothing wrong enjoying watching someone hold their hands to their side for no reason and letting someone use a stapler in the least damaging way on their chest.
Its just not for me.

Isn't every top-rope spot by definition delayed/planned? I know what you're referring to. With AEW, it's definitely more of a camera-cut/production issue, but it exists in all of pro-wrestling.
Run-in psychology makes zero sense in wrestling either. Why does every babyface wait until the heels are beating down another babyface before running in? Why not just come out at the same time and avoid the numbers game?
Same with surprise, debuting wrestlers. Your plan was only to debut if that exact circumstance occurred? Makes zero sense, but we all play along or the whole thing falls apart.
I'm not telling you you need to enjoy something that you don't. It's just more that complete immersion isn't entirely necessary for me. Sometimes dumb is fun.
The stapler stuff is also kind of comparable to tack spots. You'd be better off hitting someone over the head with a sack of tacks vs. slamming them onto the tacks.

I think to me where I draw the line is does it look cool or tacky.
The tack spot is overused now, but when it happened for the first time on mainstream wrestling (WCW/WWF) with Mick Foley it looked cool at least. And still can sometimes when the guys entire back has tacks on it
The stapler stuff just looks lame because its just not that interesting and tacks too much coordination to work well.
In the end wrestling should look cool, be safe, and not actually hurt your opponent ... and too often these gimmick matches don't achieve any of that (not saying this match was that because I actually missed it this weekend)

Speaking of which some awful looking bumps in the women's match on Dynamite tonight. Broken nose for Harley Cameron. There was blood all over the place at the end of the night, poor girls.

I'm really hoping Cole wasn't hurt on that botch by Fletcher. Last thing that guy needs.
I wouldn't be opposed to doing away with apron bombs entirely.

Harley wasn't even a botched spot. She just decided to bust herself open the hard way. She's been so good lately. Deserves a big push, imo.

I think the dooms day device was a pretty big botch.
I've said this about Harley in the past, she's a pure future top star if she's handled right. She's just a fountain of absolute talent. But I do think that she has a long way to go with her in ring work and timing.

The most shocking part of Dynamite tonight was there was a run-in DQ finish. I don't think I've seen that in the entire 6 years I've been watching AEW.

That was God-awful. I do not understand how Penelope is still employed. She's been there since the start and has made zero progress as a wrestler.
Well, I have my theories, but they're not very progressive of me.
