He has a massive audience. You don't think spreading misinformation to a massive audience is bad?
EDIT: This is such a bafflingly bad take. Even if it "means nothing," there are hugely negative consequences to the mass distribution of. I don't know you look at the consequences of the last 10+ years of disinformation campaigns by media, politicians and other prominent public figure with large followings, especially the disinformation spread during COVID and think "no big deal" when the second-most prominent politician in the country, who garnered 40% of the popular vote, is actively spreading garbage. Does anyone actually believe that "If they just give back remaining hostages and quit fighting" Israel wouldn't still continue their plan to eliminate the Palistine people and steal all the land for themselves?
I also have no doubt that the Conservatives and PP would do and say whatever the american republicans tell them to.

His misinformation — delivered to his supporters who accept it uncritically — has undoubtedly contributed to the fractures in our political landscape. A certain orange moron started doing the same thing in 2015, and the state of their politics now is a nightmare. The fact that PP hasn’t managed to land our country’s highest office on the back of such misinformation is fortunate, but that doesn’t mean it had no impact and is not worth being concerned over.

Ya but he wasn't in charge in 2015 or 2020-24 so it doesn't matter.

No. This is not Canadian politics:

The answer to that question belongs in the other thread where you or anyone else who has so internalized this conflict that you've made it a key element of your personalities can go and hash it out with people similarly obsessed with the issue and absolutely certain that their point of view is the correct one irrespective of side. That thread is an absolute nightmare, and allowing it to leak into other parts of the board will ruin them utterly. It's already messy enough having every fifth post be this:

Day 1 of parliament, the first of 2025 (insane).
With Liberals confirming that they will not give the NDP official party status despite the pandering (and why would they considering the strength they are in?), the NDP is pretty much an empty hull with zero direction, except for what was some weird all hands on deck attempt to save Singh over the party. CBC reporting that the NDP apparently internally had only one goal this election. Now they have nothing.

Quote:
One source said, at the doors, NDP supporters made it clear that they were flipping to the Liberals or Conservatives.
Door-knockers log their interactions, and the data gets fed into the NDP campaign apparatus. Despite the dismal support, headquarters leadership doubled down and sent more staff to Burnaby.
The three sources said that the NDP campaign headquarters was emptied on the weekend before election day, which all campaigns tend to do to get out the vote.
But most of the NDP's staff, a full-court press of between 20 and 30, were flown to Burnaby in a last-ditch attempt to save Singh's riding.
"I don't think it was wise to send all those resources," one source who was on the ground said. "I found myself confused."
"It was confusing that we had 24 incumbent seats, but most of us were being sent to Burnaby."
Another source, who worked in a non-B.C. battleground riding, says it seemed like a misuse of campaign resources, especially when other ridings could have used more help.
"I was really shocked at how much they were spending literally on knocking on doors for people out there and paying for meals and hotels," the person said.
All three sources told CBC News the trend is part of a leader-centric approach to campaigning, within all the parties, and which the NDP warned itself against in a debrief of its performance in the 2021 election.
"The NDP is more than just Jagmeet," it says, criticizing that election's campaign.

It's like the only party that decided to actively try to win this election was Liberals (albeit this has more to do with Carney himself) after throwing Trudeau to the curb and seeing the golden opportunity. Poilievre was too busy sticking to the MAGA Jenni Byrne plan than trying to win and lost his seat and the election in the process. And he's out in parliament pretending like nothing happened.

So the King visiting Canada as head of state is kinda the Super Bowl for the Governor General’s office. Every kid in junior high in this country knows the King is the Sovereign of Canada.
Except for the General’s Office which puts out an official tweet welcoming His Majesty and looking forward to dialogue between our two countries. What idiots. They think he’s here representing Great Britain. Unbelievable. Who hires these morons?

To paraphrase Pierre Trudeau over an incident once at 24 Sussex, the moron probably got the job because they spoke French.

Clearly that was a mandate from leadership and executives to save his seat. I had high hopes for Singh at the start but this guy has been one epic fail after another. There's useless and then there is Singh NDP as leader useless. I don't understand how anybody can actually defend this guy running that party into the ground. Party may be a stretch, more like a car full of political people going for coffee.

Given the state of affairs down south not sure going the republic route is the best idea.
