The Stars had a great 3rd period and have a great power play. But they need to play better, regardless of the outcome of game 1.

I am not going to be able to watch another team stop playing against Edmonton. It keeps happening and it's annoying lol.

Dallas' play has been inconsistent going back to round 1.

But their PP is lethal and they get the saves when it matters.

I don't think they'll need to fire on all cylinders for 60 minutes to get past the oil and it will be a testament to how overhyped the oilers are and how their first two opponents wilted more than they were elite.

Now against the Panthers? Yes. Absolutely.

They're much better than the oilers.

This is the silver lining to them not being bounced early IMO...as long as they don't win its good their players are all upping their stock. Especially Bouchard with his offensive numbers that totally have nothing to do with McDrai lol.

Yeah Bouchard being over a P/GP again, and doing it without Ekholm baby sitting him this time is just going to increase his ask.

It's why Dallas winning is so key though.

All this great depth Oiler media keeps talking about...it's gone once Draisaitl and Bouchard get their raises for next season. And then either McDavid gets an even bigger raise the following season, or he's gone.

And they have no draft picks, or propsects in the pipeline that will fill that depth.

This is easily the best chance this Oilers team has at winning the cup, Dallas (or Florida) need to ensure good prevails and evil falls.

Last year was their best chance.

They got worse this year. Don't have the special teams this time and Dallas and Florida have improved.

But yes, going forward their chances won't be this good again.
