Rinse and repeat.

Sounds like canada politically
Joking aside the Flames should try and pick off some of their offensive talent. Like a vulture.

Has any GM wasted more draft picks over the years for depth rentals like Treliving? Wasted some quality draft picks again for two players that barely contributed. You have to go big or save your picks for another day.

Matthew's just really isn't a good playoff player. He has all the physical make up to be dominant, but folds under pressure. Tavares is overrated. Nylander has his moments. Marner I think could thrive if he had some help from Matthew's.
Overall, it's pretty grim for the Leafs. They are stuck with Matthew's for the next few years. And he clearly isn't good enough. When they lose Marner they are likely a bubble playoff team.

While we're nitpicking grammar, I'm super curious what you think apostrophes mean.

Haha, except in the '04 playoffs when Fraser was reffing.

It’s his thing. He is the “who is” jeopardy response to that habit.

Well, the point was that “one of the worse” is not a phrase used in English so yes, it was.

They were doing that in Toronto long before he got there. Foligno, McCabe, O'Reilly, Campbell.

Some people would have you believe it was all Murray Edwards making Treliving mortgage the future like that, and not Treliving that sold Edwards on a vision that he couldn't bring to fruition. But he is managing the exact same way in Toronto now.

They wouldn’t trade Knies for Rantanan so I don’t see why they would trade him now. He’s being resigned 100%.

No it wasn’t
Somebody took exception to the phrase as a grammatically incorrect pet peeve. Much as you can say a player was one of the better players on the ice, you could say they were one of the worse players
The point about posts not being essays was related to the idea that context is often not fully spelled out in a post. In this case, sure, ‘one of the worst’ is more commonly used but ‘one of the worse’ is not entirely wrong
Just strikes me as a weird thing to be bothered by, of all of the opportunities available to the grammar police
Maybe I should of not bothered commenting
Yes that was deliberate

I blame all grammatical errors on my part to autocorrect which I have not enabled.

From what I have heard Marner does not want to come back. Tavares will take a pay cut and they will get Knies signed. There is also a lot of noise that even if Bennett doesn't end up back in Florida which is his first choice that he has no interest in playing in Toronto. I expect the Leafs will sign Knies and Tavares and then make some 1 year value deals. I could see a guy like Mantha ending up there on a 1 year.

It’s maybe an unpopular opinion but I think Toronto fans have to share a big part of the blame for the Leafs’ playoff failures. They put intense pressure on the team, which affects the team’s play. It gets worse with every game 7 loss or first-round exit. It’s different than in other Canadian cities.

Actually it's not. We pestered the best players this team has seen in a generation away from our team. Fretting them leaving for home, crying about how they couldn't get it done. Meanwhile Ovechkin spends 15 years without a cup in the same organization until he gets one. If he played in Canada he would have been gone after year 5.
Zero patience or chill. "We need the next Kipper/Iggy/Johnny". Yeah, well it may never happen, and when it does, they won't be this picture perfect thing that delivers you effortless cup after effortless cup. It's hard to win.
