Had season tickets for years, I’ve got no problem with the Flames.

Crazy how little overall post season success Ovi has had compared to other top players in history. He got his cup for sure but it was vs a very good expansion team which is kind of an anomaly

Every time the Caps and pens have met in the Ovi Sid era, the winner has gone on to win the cup

Honestly, I was hoping Washington could get to SC final. With Ovi breaking the scoring record, him winning the Cup the same season would be neat.

I'll vouch for Habernac, he's a good guy. Much rather have him than many others.on this forum.

The Canes are a really good team, but like consistently the 4th to 6th best team in the league and their playoff record is in line with that. Always in round 2, but Conference Final ceiling. I get why they took a swing at Raantenen.

Caps had too much of a 2019 Flames vibe for me. I think the worm turns on them next year and they're more wild card #2 type of thing.

I think they'll match up pretty well against Florida if they get them.

Canes/Cats was the ECF last year too right? Guessing it goes the same way but we'll see.

Was Ovi asked about retirement?

Nope it was Panthers - Rangers last year.

It was Panthers - Hurricanes in 2023 - and the Panthers swept them.

Now it's all about who can beat the Oilers. I'm cheering for THAT team.

It woulda been neat if Ovi got another Cup after breaking the record this year, but I'm not hung up on it.

Both teams are well coached and know who they are and play to their identity. But the Panthers to a man are just a bit better at most positions. I'd give Slavin the nod as best defenceman in the series. But most other spots the Panthers have an edge. Barkov>Aho, Bobrovski>Anderson, Reinhart>Jarvis etc... not a big edge, but an edge. The last time it was a sweep where all 4 games were competitive. I'd expect similar here. Really close contested games, but Florida prevails in 5 or 6.
