I can certainly imagine Michael Cooper, a lawyer with a law degree as justice minister would be less disastrous than a radical ecoterrorist as environment and climate change minister which actually did in fact happen versus a hypothetical. Let's not forget what we came from here and the consistent grifting that the Trudeau government did which caused it to become so unpopular.
Look at deplorable Skippy as PM. Newspaper delivery boy.... lol hahahahahaha
and whiny fool. Great resume!

Most lawyers have law degrees. And a whole lot of other people too.
Jerry Springer had a law degree. Ezra Levant has a law degree. Gerard Butler has a law degree. Rebel Wilson has a law degree. John Cleese has a law degree.
Cooper was a lawyer for all of 5 years. Scheer had to remove him from the justice committee for smearing a witness. He talks about "goat herder cultures".

The person put in charge of environment cares about the environment!
I hate Smith as much as the next person with a brain, but let's not pretend that it's a nothingburger from an Alberta POV:
Quote:
Environmental Protection: Julie’s action on the environment and climate change includes work to modernize the Canada Environmental Protection Act, which includes developing the ban on single-use plastics and building a circular economy that places responsibility on the producers of waste to ensure that their items do not end up in landfill. She has supported putting a price on carbon pollution, has taken a strong stance against oil sands expansion, and has promoted the critical need for a transition from fossil fuels to a low-carbon economy.

Does anyone expect that a statement about a 'strong stance against oil sands expansion' is not going to be called out as a negative?
Problem with smith is that she has become the boy who cried wolf in the eyes of many so even when she says something sensible it isn’t listened to credibly. Not an ideal attribute for someone that you want to be advocating on your behalf.
I would have liked to have seen Hogan make it in too, but Hodgson in Energy and Natural Resources does a bit of heavy lifting for us.

One voice in Cabinet run by a PM and potentially his buddy in Natural Resources ministry.
I wouldnt want an industry shill on the environment profile. Needs to be a balance and the PM and cabinet need to find that balance.
Pierre's little press conference was full on bitter this afternoon. Came across as the biggest sore loser I've ever seen in my life.
Vertical video
Spoiler!

The people of Canada rejected him as not only Prime Minster but the people in his riding rejected him as a Member of Parliament. The sooner the conservative party the sooner they turn things around. He's such a f'n loser.

Your ytshort was short a bracket. It has been un-shortened to fix the short-out.
Very good interview between Carney and Kapelos and must watch.
Really like Carney's answer to push nuclear first and foremost but also with oil as an element of the energy plan.
Such a solid and welcome departure from Trudeau's ideological narcissist gaslighting (i.e. telling us how much money is being put into our pockets), and also from Poilievre often nonsensical rhetoric. He'll just straight up give an answer for results, and if it means building a pipeline, or even reviewing C-69, that will be done if it's the right call, but not because of a promise or slogan.
On Trump: Little smirk and a Ying and Yang
I think we are in good hands.

No, I mean a Con. Harper kept a Liberal as speaker for two terms, before he appointed Scheer. But in reality the ballot isn't that simple any more. Members remove their name from consideration and those who don't are voted on by secret ranked ballot.
I'm not sure what your second parapgraph means. The speaker doesn't vote, except for a tie and then can only vote to continue debate or maintain the status quo.
Times have changed, the Liberals aren't appoint a Con, 1) because the liberals aren't appoint a con, 2) because the cons are generally on the path to full on nutty, if somebody worked with the liberals their own party would run them out.
If the libs appoint an NDPer, they can probably get that NDPer to side with them on most ties. In that case they only need 1 person from any of the 4 other parties to join them in any vote (including May).

They aren't voiceless, Pierre. We just had an election and they used their voices to tell you they don't want you or your ideas.
