Iggy basically couldn't have timed his career/ peak any worse from the perspective of the NHL goal scoring environment. his 01-02 season without context looks sort of pedestrian

essentially Iginla (debut 1996) likely lost about 100 goals based on when he played, versus Mike 'one of the top 100 of all time' Gartner who debuted in 1979 and likely scored 100 more than in an average era
on the other hand guys like Nieuwendyk, Sakic, Shanahan who debuted in the later 80s are pretty much right on target- they benefited early in their career and then were 'short changed' later
