Never sounded like Parekh was going to play on the team outside of pre games so it wouldn't be a shock to see him go home this week. Somehow I think that was always the plan. Kids played a ton of hockey the last two years and it sounded like he wanted the downtime and extra training time.

Spurgeon add is crazy to me, the guy borderline fainted multiple games down the stretch and looked concussed in the playoffs.
Feels like a guy just dying to get on Canada.

I like that Honzek is getting reps at the world's. Could be a big confidence builder. He needs it badly.

Unfortunately, it sounds like the Slovakian team is not an uplifting place these days. 26 players have declined the invitation and there are no NHLers on the squad. Many Slovaks are boycotting the team due to poor management and a toxic environment. It is expected they will be fighting to avoid relegation.
Honzek will get minutes, but not sure it will be a positive experience.
