I never understood why people think players aren't assets, just picks and prospects. From 2008 to 2017, the flames drafted 64 players and 32 of them have 0 career games in the NHL. 0 that never ever made it. 50%.

This does not include players that amounted to nothing, and careers were short lived, 0 games. Another 8 played less than 20 career games.

The Flames can easily add a young center using pieces on the wing and picks and it makes a ton of sense.

I wonder if the Flames throw an offer sheet to someone this year. Not saying they need a guy like Samoskevich but would you throw him a one year 4.5 million dollar offer and give up a 2nd round pick for him?

Marco Rossi is a 23 year old centre who put up 60 points while being pushed down the lineup. If he is available because he’s mad at his team, I think the Flames should push to acquire him. Rossi is exactly the kind of player the Flames need.

Flames, or someone (St. Louis), should offer sheet Bouchard 7x15. The hobos up north would riot if Bowman didn't match immediately.

Voronkov or McTavish are dreamy ideas. Vilardi depending on the Jets cap scenario

That would be the dumbest offersheet ever.

5 years x whatever is the upper limit to 2 1sts, a 2nd, and a 3rd? Different story.

Was told the Sharks are open to trading the #2 pick for something worthwhile and that a team has offered multiple 1sts in this years draft. Have a work luncheon today (some Sharks scouts are husbands of my coworkers). Will try and get more information.

If this is an elaborate long-game troll to get Flames fans to believe we will be getting #2 overall, I respect the hell out of it.

Columbus with 14 and 20 (45.22)
Calgary with 18 and *22 (37.80)
Montreal with 16 and 17 (45.69)
Philly with 6, 24 and 25 (75.65)
Chicago with 3 and 29 (73.99)
Nashville with 5, 26 and 30 (75.28)

I think I got all the teams with multiple firsts. I'd say Nashville or Chicago would have a pretty good shot at moving up with what they have. Nashville is my guess. But, Philly with some good quality and quantity.

Edit....Total pick value from PuckPedia added in brackets. San Jose #2 pick valued at 72.68

lol. Pass along the info I hear. I am not sure which team it is. Hoping to find out in a bit. Looking at the list can only be 4-5 teams. I’ve been on the board for almost 20 years now and when my dad passed away cp was insanely kind flooding my inbox with messages, gifts and donations. Something I’ll never forget and wouldn’t troll.

I bet it's Philly. Misa to Michkov for a decade sounds pretty appetizing.

18 + 22 + Andersson + their pick of Brzustewicz, Zary, or any of our recent prospects picked in the 1st round

I don't think SJ considers anything less

Nashville and maybe Philly makes a lot of sense if San Jose has Martone only a slight step back on Misa, and if they feel he's likely to be there at 5 or 6. It's a dice roll, but they may also feel one of the other top centres isn't that much of a drop off from Misa if another team takes Martone before 5.

Or maybe Chicago offers 29 to guarantee that they get Misa if they like him that much more...

San Jose could then package a couple of late first rounders to get their right handed defenseman as well.

I know for certain that Philly wants to move up, but what I was told was they wanted to keep #6.
Its very odd for the Sharks to entertain moving the 2nd before knowing who goes 1st, just as much as it would be trading 6th for 2nd when you don't even know if your guy is there at 2 depending on what the Islanders do.

I'd wager the Sharks brain trust feel it's time to crawl out of the basement with what they got. They're going to be aggressive in the defense market and can get whatever they need with their draft capital and prospects. There's a ton of value there to accelerate their build. I bet they'll be the busiest traders this year leading into the draft and draft day.

I'm imagining at least a Sergachev level trade where it came out of nowhere (who thought TB would move him?)
