Unless Parekh is Bobby Ore the likely outcome is the Oilers win with their two generational talents. Flames will be competitive but still win nothing and continue to never finish low enough to draft a cup winning team.

As soon as the refs start letting them dive for calls the other team just gives up.

Playing passive just plays into the Oilers hands.

Their strength is their forwards and their weakness are their defenders (although when they are at their best they are playing a very sound defensive game as a 5 man unit).

So the second you sit back and play passive you are letting their d-core off the hook, and giving their skilled forward more offensive zone puck time which is the killer.

In order to beat the Oilers you need to keep pushing like you are trailing, even if you have the lead. Just keep forechecking and don't sit back.

Unfortunately, I believe the established ratio is 5:1. So the question is would you accept the Oilers winning 5 cups over the next 7 years if it ment the Flames would get one?

Don't forget how "they brought the cup back to Canada".

That narrative will last a life time and it's why it's so important the next Canadian team to win a cup is the Flames.

The Oilers win one game in round two and this place loses it's mind.

It's just unbelievable. And pathetic. Some have declared the series over. Many are whining about the Oilers winning the cup - last time I checked, it takes 16 wins, not 5.

Yes, this place has serious problems. It's literally hysteria any time the Oilers are mentioned.

I hate the Oilers, too, but it is hard for me to understand how so many people care so much.

Definitely not healthy, lol.

VGK were terrible in the second and third periods. Hemmed in their zone shift after shift.

They keep playing like that and it’ll be a quick series.

Would certainly explain their play in the last two periods last night, though

After the first 3 minutes that was a pretty terrible game by Vegas. Hopefully Cassidy uses Bobby Knight tactics to terrify them so that they win this series...but pisses them off to the point that they play all 82 games exactly like that next season and force the team to fire him after finishing dead last....I can dream right?

Here is the 'yeah_baby in the ground' report, the Edmonton women are now talking about how attractive Connor Brown is.

That's the worst I've seen Vegas play, and they barely lost on a screened shot late.

Considering they're a better team that is better coached than LA, a game like that happening in game 1 may go a long way to Vegas reconfig-ing their approach and playing the way they need to.

The drastic opinions this morning around hockey circles made my eyes roll.

There's a lot of runway and probably a few twists and turn yet to go in this series alone.

I think when Vegas let by 2 goals they tried to play safe. But then they lost the momentum. And both teams looked like not trying too hard.
