Haha. Canada tries to do a lot for Alberta, but we have an idiot premier that doesn’t accept it on some dumb ideological grounds.
You know this already, stop playing dumb.

This is the problem with people like you, you can never be satisfied. There is no good enoguh, no compromise, and certainly no way to satisfy you. When met with people like that, they should be ignored, not attempted to be pleased, because you can't ever come to a conclusion. There are always more grievances and demands. This is why negotiating with Trump is pointless. What I'm saying is you think in the same way the stupidest person on Earth thinks, and we should in no way listen to you.

You don’t need to go to the US. The dollar can take you far maybe a place like North Korea is better for you. Since you are suffering so so much in Canada.

On one hand I'd LOVE a referendum for Alberta to leave Canada.
Finally put this BS nonsense to bed and an opportunity to end this ridiculous conversation.
On the other hand...We saw Brexit.
Sometimes the only thing worse than not getting what you want is getting it.
We need to stomp out this Alberta separatist nonsense. Now.

It’s only getting press lately because Smith and her far-right minions have amplified it. It’s still only a tiny fraction of the population who actually want it. The overwhelming majority of Albertans want nothing to do with this stupid nonsense. And it’ll never happen.
But yea, it definitely needs to be stamped out, and it starts at the top. Smith needs to shut these morons up, but sadly she won’t because that’s her base and she needs to keep throwing them red meat.

What does Quebec as a province in terms of special rules that you want in Alberta out of curiosity?

I seriously don't think Canada does anything for Alberta but hold us back. Alberta has always been just a piggy bank.
And if you are a landlocked country, you have to be allowed access to tide water, it is a UN rule, it actually makes it easier for Alberta to get to the sea.
"The UN international law concerning access to the sea, as outlined in the UN Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS), grants land-locked states the right of access to and from the sea."

Did you read that? It doesn’t allow transport of everything and with whatever means you want.
Quote:
(d) "means of transport" means:
(i) railway rolling stock, sea, lake and river craft and road vehicles;
(ii) where local conditions so require, porters and pack animals.

Good freaking luck with that. I wasn't opposed to the Trans Mountain expansion, I was for it, but I did recognize that some concerns were that BC was taking all the risk of major spillage of more tanker movement in our oceans while Alberta was reaping most of the benefits. I realized that this would benefit all of Canada which made the risk tolerable. I can't see any scenario where the UN forces us to take that risk while you guys separate and profit. In fact this sounds like anti vax pie in the sky stuff like a coworker of mine thinking he would get reparations because he thought the Nurenburg Trials were legally binding
If separation happens and you want to get your oil to global markets is through the US and good luck with that!

This makes you sound like you're in grade 7.
Read this posted in the provincial politics forum. You probably have a lot to learn about the impacts this pipeline is already having and its financial outlook.
