We don’t have an electoral college. That’s the US.
Also, Alberta closed at the same time as Ontario and Quebec…the election wasn’t called before that.

I don't understand why that's pathetic. Is it pathetic that before the votes are counted in Edmonton, in our provincial election that we know the outcome already?
That happens every provincial election we have.

Maybe this has been asked and answered already but I read earlier this week that there was a record 7 million votes cast in advanced polls. Global shows roughly two million total votes counted. How can an election be called already?

It's probably just coincidence that the further right someone is on the political spectrum, the less they know about how Canadian elections and governments work, right?

They've also been threatening to move to Alberta and vote to separate.

As mentioned already in this thread, the polls closed at the same time in Ontario and Alberta.

The same way polls can fairly accurately predict outcomes with extremely small sample sizes. You can model a lot of this ahead of time, and use the trends from past elections to predict the outcome. Once your model is showing a high enough chance of outcomes, you call it. Science.

As an Alberta, I’m pissed right off that Ontario is two hours ahead of us. You’re telling me the sun rises two hours earlier and they get off work two hours earlier? What the HELL is that about?
