That's the problem with a lot of inexperienced kings players that haven't got past the first round, often against the blue and orange pigs (not talking about kopitar and doughty, obviously). A team like the oilers that has the confidence and experience to outscore deficits has that advantage. And they are in the king's head. Was really hoping the kings would just end these diving *ssholes in round 1. Because all of the other western teams have warts. Dallas looks good, as they did last year until they folded against the oilers. Vegas doesn't look great. Minnesota looks good, but what are their chances against the oilers diving? Colorado, maybe, who knows. So frustrating. Kings have shown they can outclass the oilers, but have blown two games and given the pigs momentum and confidence.

Sorry for being a jerk. This isn’t fun. I shouldn’t watch any EDM games.

To an extent ... when they're on, they look just as dominant. The Kings were the ones fighting for their lives in the third and OT tonight. It was an ass-kicking.

Even though they were the better team the last two periods they still didn't look impressive. It was just that LA looked worse and in the third sat back and tried to run out the clock.
I missed the first two games but Beavis and Butt-Head don't look as dominating as years past either.

The Oilers might not have quit but LA sure did.

Always amazes me that so many NHL teams get a 2 goal lead and start playing prevent defense. Even if it’s halfway through the game.

Well I don't think the Kings are winning a cup either and they have dominated for more of the series than Edmonton has. Both teams have major flaws. LA lacks the top end while Edmonton lacks the D, goaltending, and depth. Kings really should have won. Fluke goal, kings post, 2 missed EN attempts, missed clear, all in the final 10 mins or so.

Trying to find a highlight of the gavrikov 'trip' on mcdavid but, shockingly, SN and tsn don't have that- only highlights available are the oiler's goals. Hmmm.

No biggie. I’m just as pissed off as you and the rest of the CPers. Just remember, last year when the Coil thought they had it in the bag after they came back from 3-0 in the finals. Only to 💩 the bed in game 7. They already had the banners, rings and merch made. Them losing that way was much sweeter than if they’d been swept. And this is only round 1…

Now that it's over I'm watching highlights. First kings goal was hilarious. Derpnell and crosseye playing peewee level defense and effort and Pissy with the giveaway. This is why the oilers will fail.
Second goal- Derpnell and crosseye again. Lol. I hope they don't get ekholm back soon, because this is three stooges level defense. Those two clowns on again for the third kings goal.
Top pairing!
Nhl.com summary doesn't show the penalty in OT. Of course.

Sometimes hockey and sport in general is more than a formula of top end talent, depth, goaltending = success. It's some weird mix of that, resolve, luck, and above all belief in my opinion. It's what makes sports great.

Kings are such an awful team, knew they would collapse. What a pathetic team to fold in the 3rd up 2 again.
I swear to God if Edmonton wins a few rounds again...

Does somebody have a clip of the Gavrikov 'trip' on McP***y? I've watched SN, TSN, ESPN and NHL game summaries and none of them show it.

Kings deserve to lose after having this series well in hand. Should have been a sweep but here we are at 2-2. They have been much better at home and have 2/3 there but damn...get your $hit together LA!

I still don't understand why coaches are not given the option to challenge a penalty call. If you lose it, make it an extra 2 mins but at least provide an opportunity to review it. They do it in the NBA, why not in the NHL?

Leaked video of Jim Hiller deciding to once again have the Kings play prevent defence with a 3rd period lead against the Oilers:

To be fair, there is seldom hi-lights of ordinary penalties, and always hi-lights of goals.
This is not a conspiracy.

Most fans think too much time is wasted on reviews already.
And since the review would need to be conclusive, and penalties are often pretty much judgement calls to begin with, few would be overturned, just those where , for example, a tripping call was seen to be a player tripping over his own stick, for example.
I can assume there is no penalty review because most teams don't want it.

LA always looks pretty good until they get a healthy lead, then it just feels like they play not to lose and hang on which ends up making the Grease look better than they are. Rinse and repeat.
