This series is far from over, but as we learned in 2004, game 5 is critical. I think the Kings take game 5 at home. But good chance this is going 7.

5 back ?? for 20 minutes. isn't going to work against any team, just lets them build and build momentum then its hard to take it back.

Same reason i hate Huska as the flames were doing 1-4 for massive amounts of time and were never able to hold a lead.

Never going to work for 20 min or more. Just keep playing the same game that got the lead in the first place.
Coaching has been the difference in this series thus far.

I know CP likes to mock the Oilers for hiring Knoblauch specifically for McDavid and riding him and Draisaitl all game long, but there's a reason L.A. has no answer for the Oilers in the third period, it's as much Oilers increasing the pressure as it is L.A. sitting back.

LA needs to look into a conditioning coach

They were absolutely exhausted leaving the ice. They have been fighting for their lives for 4 games already, and we're only halfway through round 1. The playoffs are a massive grind and the ultimate test of endurance. It's a very long road if you're having to fight this hard in round 1.

The Kings better sort this out quick. How in the #### do you dominate shots 28 to 15 through the first two periods and then get completely dominated in shots 34 to 13 through the third and overtime. For ####s sake, keep playing the way you played in periods 1 and 2. #### trying to go into a prevent defense. All that prevents is a victory.

3 of 4 goals were with them with an extra skater and one was a fluky bounce

I just don't understand how a team can collapse in the third period in four consecutive games. That's completely novel to me.

What a bunch of self professed losers, those saying Edmonton is going to win.
Series is tied. Show some grit, intelligence and fire.

If there is any upside (spoiler alert, there isn’t), it’s that if they win this round, Greaserville High will double down on the current “strategy”. A first round exit may have kicked off some souls searching.

They’ll pay McDavid and the missing link Bouchard a combined $30 million a season, and get nowhere.

Also, are Bouchard’s parents cousins, or outright brother and sister. Something is amiss is his genetics somewhere.

A simple chip out and its over...Edmonton didnt do anything special they got a fluke 3-2 goal and then that debacle at the end

Because we saw this play out last year. Canucks folded like a cheap tent when they had the Oilers on the verge of elimination last year, and L.A. seems to be having the same trouble closing this series out.

Small chance L.A. can close this out but Oilers have all the momentum, and I'll admit, the determination and belief that they can do it (having gone through that long run last year).

Inches away from being up 3-1: if Byfield goes glass-and-out OR puts the puck through Bouchard’s triangle it’s game over. Instead tried to go wide for some idiotic reason and the Kings are heading home tied but badly demoralized.

The only solace I take is in the Oilers hopes being raised and then subsequently crushed.

LA...I find your lack of finish...disturbing.

Very different team...last year they cruised though round one, this year they are fighting for their lives.

The Coilers aren’t really some kind of juggernaut. They’re basically a two player team. They also have the capability of being a defensive tire fire, and both of their goalies are NG. If LA can win the next game at home, I think they can still win the series. And if they don’t win it, it’s not the end of the world. Another team will take out the Coil. There are still three more rounds. They’re older, slower and have much less depth than last year…
